Talarian White is the best in end game till you get to BBI. Talarian can be found as an UR dragon drop. Which you can farm in the everfall post game offline mode. Doesn't mean it's the one you should get right away. You can get better ones till you get to the UR dragon. That wiki has them all based on highest damage to lowest. If you click the name you can see where you get it.

Meniscus is 9 down from Tal White, which means you have a lot of choices! Have fun.

If you gave a silver- or gold-idol to caxton, you can buy the frost-staff there. If you spend a gold-idol, there will be a similar dark-enchanted staff. Both are better, than the Meniscus. Even the "hellical archistaff" (the ground-version of the 2 mentioned ones) is better, but not, if you have a 3-star advanced Meniscus and can't enhance the hellical to that level, because you lack the materials and/or gold.

If you kill Grigori as sorcerer, you'll get a realy good one, too. (You should be able to, with the meniscus. Although you have the chance to find a better one, on the way to the "final battle".)
possum has more than likely moved on since the original post, but I thought that I would throw this in here too. The Caged Fury packs a heck of punch if you can get it charged and then not get hit. If you do get hit, it takes your stamina to 0. There are a number of things that can take the charge down besides getting hit, such as Dragon's Roar or Dragon's Wind Buffet.

I never used it until I was just playing around with it at level 200. I took it on a BBI run and this is the first time against Daimon:

I am not going to say that it hits harder than the Sanquine Stalk when it is charged, but it does seem to do comparable damage. If anything, I think the knockdown and stagger might be better. I have never seen it mentioned that those stats are altered by the charge effect. It just seems that I could always knock Daimon out of his rift when I had the staff charged whether or not if I had used periapts. The Sanguine Stalk on the other hand would sometimes not be able to knock him out of the rift if I was at a bad angle and not using periapts.

I tried using Grand Bolide in to knock down Death. I was never was able to do it even when scoring multiple hits.
