Mystic Knight build advice
So, I decided to go for a Mystic Knight. Love the Battlemage class in Elder Scrolls, so I thought it might be fun. This was confirmed by the various videos I have seen of guys destroying enemies with a Great Cannon. That being said, I am having a bit of trouble deciding the build. I want to play Mystic Knight ASAP, but I don't want to sacrifice too much damage. I've been experimenting with the current build I have going, and I would love some advice.

I started out as a Mage, and kept it up till I maxed out my vocation at Lv.20, and am now a Sorceror. I would like to be a Mystic Knight by Lv.100 at the latest, but I'm willing to flex a bit. Here is a link to the build I have planned currently:

Any advice?

I don't have much advice on Mystic Knight, since I don't play them that often. If you are looking for a balanced build. It really depends on how you want to play. At level 200, just about any build will steamroll through the game with upgraded top tier equipment. To that point the build doesn't matter that much other than shaving seconds off of how fast you kill the end boss.

How you get there is what matters. If this is your first playthrough, you should play as many vocations as you can in order to unlock augments. Mystic Knight is cool, but you may find that you really like Ranger or Assassin. It also helps to play the vocations that your pawn is using. It gives a better understanding on how to set up your pawn to be more effective.

With that in mind, I threw this together

Its basically 20 levels of Fighter, Warrior, Strider, Assassin, and Ranger up to level 100. After level 100, it is 70 Sorcerer and 30 Mystic Knight.

I would recomend at least 4000 HP. Anything below 3500 HP can be one shot far too often. As far as Stamina, it is up to you as far as what you are going to employ. If you are like me and spam consumables to keep stamina, then it doesn't matter. Some people play hard core with no consumables and having a deep stamina pool makes a big difference. If you are going to go hard core with no conumables, then 4000 stamina is going to better than 3000.

Most damage in the game comes from physical damage. I value Defense much higher than Magik Defense.

I left off Mage and Sorcerer pre level 100 because they have the poorest stat progression.

This looks like a pretty solid build! Thanks for that. Still, I'm not entirely new to the game, and I have played assassin before. Actually completed the game as assassin around Lv.60 or so. It was definitely fun! Having my pawn back then as a mage, then a sorceror got me curious about the Magic classes. Then I was introduced to Mystic Knight...mind blown. Honestly, ever since I played a Battlemage in Elder Scrolls 5: Oblivion, I was always fascinated with magic knights. Something about wearing heavy armor, throwing around high level spells and slashing with my sword in equal messure really sang to me. So when I discovered the Mystic Knight class, I was hooked instantly. Started a new game with a new character just to better set myself up for it. Also helped that I screwed up a number of quests and lost a number of rare equipment that made me decide to start over.

That being said, I want to try and play Mystic Knight ASAP without sacrificing too much attack or defense. Which also brings me to another question. Mystic Kinght is mainly magic damage right? Or even mix? I heard it really depends on your weapon of choice, spells or weapon, but since I enjoy using both, I guess I should go more for a 50/50 build? Also, I've heard from other chats here that optimal well rounded stats would be something around what I have below right?

HP: 3500
ST: 3500
Attack: 500
Magic Attack: 500
Defense: 350
Magic Defense: 350

Yes, Mystic Knight is split damage Vocation, but definitely having more Magick is more important than equal Magick and Strength.

MK has Fighter's Strength based skills and just one of his own that scale with his Strength. And if you think of increasing their effectiveness Anguish skills are a must cause they scale well with anything by multiplying your hits.

On the other hand all other skills of MK (cannons, sigils, grove) y know the big boomers, scale with your Magick.

Now, one may argue that one gets more Strength than Magick from weapons, but the multipliers for Magick are much much better in comparison so IMO Magick wins.

Thanks for the clarification! If that is the case, maybe I will alter my build a bit to have more magic attack. Should I go somewhere around 400/600 for Physical/Magic damage, or sacrifice a bit in other stats to get that 500/600? Is it even worth it at that point? I really don't want to dip below the 3000 mark for Health and Stamina so that I can survive a massive hit.

1. With a good armor you can survive a massive hit with 2K Health. And those that would slay you deal damage that is too much for any stats anyway.
2. I'd say go for more damage if you feel comfortable with blocking (and especially Reflect core skill). If you feel like you are tanking damage too often, don't.

you can make a damn solid Mk just going 50/50 split with Strider/MK. all these fancy min maxing stat builds are overblown nonsense.

I am not too concerned about "min-maxing" my build, just want to make sure I don't screw up my survivability too much. I enjoy playing the Magic classes most, so I wanted to stick to those mainly until I can choose Mystic Knight class later down the line. Still, beyond the class levels, I was curious as to what skills you would say would work best with this build. Any favorite weapons and armors?
