Stuck at Dark Bishop in BBI - Level 60
I was enjoying BBI so much, every encounter was challenging, but doable.

Until i got to the dark bishop, with his cursed dragon. I tried several times, with strider rank 9 and fighter rank 9, my main pawn is a mage with silence/healing/buffs/some damage spells. Level 60. I loaded silence arrows, and healing items for everybody, I don't have golden equipment nor rusted. Other 2 pawns sorcerer and warrior. I set dark spells, maelstrom and meteor swarm.

No way i can kill him, i hardly remove him one bar. I keep having to revive my pawns , and lastly he just one spell-kill me. Am i too low level ? Why this so steep difficult increase ?

I already finished 'the final battle' but did not go to NG+

Thanks

Kill the dragon and wait for it to be revived. After he revives it, he'll usually possess it, which just gives the dragon the ability to spellcast. Kill the dragon again and the dark bishop will be thrown out of it and knocked on the ground for a good while. The damage multiplier from hitting a prone target should get you over any defense thresholds.

I'm not sure if silence stops or discourages his possession ability, but I never bothered with it.

Instead of sorc and warrior try searching for strider (with rusted bow and brain splitter preferably) and fighter (higher defense, tankier). Maybe leave Bishop to pawns, because he'll target the attacker and it's hard to avoid his holy furor spell. Also as strider you can use blast arrows, they are very powerful.

If the dragon 1-hit kills you, then you either need a lot more Defense (Easy/Normal) which means better armor or you need to learn its patterns so you can avoid them (Hard).

If the Dark Bishop is 1-hit killing you with spells, you need to be more aware of keeping him Silenced. Though you should always be paying attention to any funny glowing effects on the floor. Those are dangerous areas. Do not stay in or step into them.

Ok, i will try to concentrate on the dragon, but it will not be easy anyway. I read you need to kill it three times, not two, am i mistaken ?
How do i know if my arrow has silenced the bishop ?

You'll only need to kill the dragon multiple times if you can't finish off the Bishop quickly enough.

Something that can help is if you're a strider or any ranged vocation you can safely hit the explosive orbs he drops on the ground with a bow. It'll help a little and give you more room to work with.

Another solution is also just leveling up more, I mean the level cap is at lvl 200, I only started on BBI after getting past level 100 just to be sure.
Heck some of the bosses still one shot you at level 200.
My Advice is hoard those wakestones from the later part of the game, then do a new game plus and get more and more of those, then head into BBI with a shipload of wakestones so you can play it deadpool style.

You can play it skilled, or you can just "ignore" dying, lol.

Throwblasts
Landismackdown Feb 28, 2016 @ 3:46pm
I was somewhere in the 70s when I killed the Bishop, and I did it with only 1 pawn with me since the other two got thrown off a cliff by an elder ogre and I never summoned them back. As others have said, concentrate on the dragon. I ignored it at first because I thought since it was a summon, I should concentrate on the summoner itself (i.e. the Bishop) until I realized the dragon actually only has one health bar.

A few things that will help you as a strider are Brainsplitter and Fracture Dart. If you can get good with the aiming of Fracture Dart and blowing it up manually instead of letting it explode from hitting something, it does a lot more damage. Outside of that, Brain Splitter does a ton of damage if you jump before using it and equip the Eminence augment.

Throwblasts are also effective, especially if you use the Vandal ring (which you get from purifying BB Gear, so I assume you have stuff to purify if you've made it to the Bishop). A Coin Purse of Charity does even more damage, but they are harder to find and cost 10,000 gold when you throw one. Fun fact, my pawn actually kills bandits by throwing rocks at them.

Many many thanks all for your inputs. I tried to concentrate on the Dragon the first time, and noticed he had a little health. Killed it once, but as soon as I turn around almost all pawns are dead or almost dying. I have just one leg armor level 2, all the other cursed items where level 1 and almost useless rings. I set skull splitter, I don't have the ring for brain splitter. And I don't have vandal ring. I guess I need to farm some more levels and bbi gear. But until now I did not find any level 3 stuff. Do you suggest ending the game and do the witchwood quests I missed the first time or should I farm bbi to get better gear and level up, or both? How long does it take for monsters and chests to respawn in bbi?

Level 3 stuff is quite rare until you beat Daimon for the first time, and even then it will take a lot of looking around to find any.

BBI will reset if you go NG+, but neither the main game nor BBI will get more difficult just from switching to NG+. While I wouldn't focus too much on levelling up, if you do go ahead and run NG+ you will earn levels just getting back to Gran Soren.

BBI monsters respawn fairly quickly, chests take noticably longer (4 days). I think 1 or at most 2 rests on a resting bench in BBI will respawn all monsters except Gazer and the Dark Bishop. Those two won't start respawning until Daimon is defeated, and even then they have the same respawn timer as chests.

cool, thanks a lot for the precious info!!!

I did this around level 90 with 3 pawns, a Ranger, a Mage and a Sorcerer. It can be very annoying if you don't understand the mechanics of the fight and how you're meant to go about dealing damage to the Dark Bishop.
