where are good places to farm chimeras?

cursewood and barta crags are typically the best areas, everfall chambers notwithstanding, as those two are by and far the most common large spawn in their respective areas, almost to the point of ubiquity

the cursewood chimera also has a shorter respawn delay to boot

I usually farm the Chimera right north from the northernmost Healing Spring, (several escort quests end there, and you may visit the nearby keep for a specific sidequest, so I have a Portcrystal right at the spring). Drop from the elevation the Spring is located and the Chimera should be found roaming near the keep's secondary exit.

The Cursewood Chimera is also a good choice. It's found near the Cursewood's Soulflayer Canyon entrance. Still, you should set a specific Portcrystal for quick farming and there's only a sidequest at the Canyon, so it's a less useful portcrystal and somewhat redundant, since you'll most probably set one at the Great Wall and you're just an arrow's shot from the other Soulflayer entrance from there...
