Bloodred crystals..
I cannot for the life of me get these..
I let the strigori eat my pawns ass for like 30 seconds, sometimes even letting them get killed and still nothing drops. I have tried to hit the tail or use fire and just nothing will allow me, in 230+ hours to get a useless crystal

1. If you are a Strider, equip Master Thief and get Fighter Pawn. If not, hire a Strider Pawn with Master Thief (offline they start to appear at level 26).
2. As a Strider ground the Strigoi, pick it up and toss to your Fighter so it would grapple it. Now you can steal from it, loot without killing it. Rinse, repeat as many times as necessary.
3. If you are not a Strider https://youtu.be/OMtuRZ9zuBY

BTW From my experience it it's impossible (or near impossible) to steal a Bloored Crystal from a well fed Strigoi. So don't let it to feed.

if you need 230+ hours you can be sure you do something wrong.
it has rng but not as that bad.

Well i haven't exactly spent 230 hours only farming strigori.. it was more of a blanket statement as to my experience with the game.. but hey you do you.

I usually go to Midnight Helix post-damon, kill the dragon (if it's there, cause a game can't have enough RNG...), and then save to prepare for the chore ahead. Letting them suck your blood increases the chance of the crystal dropping but it doesn't guarantee anything, so savescum and you'll eventually get three for the guest that you're probably trying to complete. Yes, it's extremely boring and dumb, but it is what it is.
That somehow sounds worse than never getting it at all, i'm only doing it as part of my quest to GOLD DF every piece of gear in the game, i'm about 65% of the way done and have noticed a few 2* items or maybe even a 3* need bloodred crystals, i guess i will also need to complete the quest for the piece of gear but meh.. if i do ever get one or someone sends me one i will just make about 10 forges of it and be done with it.

Pawn name Artorias and is a Fighter should anyone feel the desire to

Pretty sure every material in the game can be forged
Nyu Jan 12, 2023 @ 3:06pm
its really not hard to get them yourself.
if you dont get them you do something wrong. like i said before when you talked about 230 hours.

i dont even used 1/3 of that time to goldforge every weapon in the game and all good lategame armor and that without any gifts send.
and yes a single item can be forged.

Yep. It will take a lot of skins of a poisonous wolf, giant black lizard, larynx of banshi, golden talismans of knights, and other rare things. Copying rarities is very long and tedious process (post-game), and even this could take a lot of time.
Well, obtaining "every weapon in the game" takes a lot of time in the first place.

Items are easier to obtain than some upgrade materials (except EF & BBI 3+ stuff). In any case, I already had bulk of equipment for upgrade, and I received materials and RC required for this much later.

Yeah the only things i can't get my hands on is 1 specific piece of Oblivion arm armour (won't drop through purification) and bloodred crystals. I had king bay leaves but they spoiled

skillissue

thats why you make a post cause of a single material with normal dropsrates.
and others own all weapons.

not everyone can be fast and effective.
some are just casual players others can speedrun games.

from 1 to 200 in 5 hours instead of your 100+ hours

BUT you would know if you ever beat hardmode, how much faster the game can level you up.

Idk. I'd think that clearing the game multiple times and Ur hunting would at least take more time than relying on drop RNG (on average).
Plus the dragon forging is huge hassle untill you are able to hunt CDs.
Plus there's the whole purification bs that may or may not take enormous amount of time and effort.

While most mats you can either buy, steal, craft or don't need at all ;)

exactly it was in question.
someone who cannot get simple drops from simple enemies doesnt know how fast progress is if you try.
80 hours is not even fast to get and max all weapons including the best armor.
i was pretty slow. around 40 to 50 i would call fast.

i see who is personal attacked.
its no the people who play the game on hardmode and got all weapons legit maxed.

should someone send you a gift with pawn so you get your bloodcrystal? :3

pls dont project your thoughts onto simple drawings.

oh and here the wiki with one simple way to grind the crystals
https://dragonsdogma.fandom.com/wiki/Bloodred_Crystal

"Method for Acquiring
Due to the landscape of the area, farming the 3 Strigoi that spawn with 3 Sirens and 3 Gargoyles as a random encounter in The Black Abbey (Post-Daimon) is a good method for acquiring this rare drop. With a party of three pawns and a Liftstone in the Arisen's inventory, simply run around dodging attacks while monitoring the pawns. More likely than not, a Strigoi will use its impale attack on one of the pawns. Wait a couple of seconds after the Strigoi's tail begins glowing red and then rush in to kill it. Watch for the drops - the Bloodred Crystal is a red sphere. Pick it up and then either use a Liftstone or kill the remaining enemies.

Godsbaning may be used to speed up farming. If a Bloodred Crystal is not dropped, the player can simply use the Godsbane blade to kill themselves and load their save to try again."

like your original post shows you dont know how to get the crystals to drop
you wait for the impale attack and only kill it if his tail starts glowing. you dont hit the tail, you kill it.

its really helpfull to correctly read the part.

tl;dr:
get pawn impaled
wait
tail glows
kill it
???
collect drop

very simple and doable for you.
