I didn't actually realize mercedes had any dialogue specific to this quest, so maybe there is something, but the soldiers themselves will still comment on casualties regardless of if there were any deaths or not.
On PC I had no wakestones so I just ignored them, and besides I was pretty unfamiliar with the layout of the place after all those years since last playing the game!.
I NEVER let the Griffon or Cockatrice fly away on ANY of my characters.
On my Warrior, I just bashed in its stupid face with no trouble at all really.
So that's my very unhelpful advice, I guess.
If you're magic based, 4 Demons Comestion it.
If you're physical, 4 Conquerers... Deathly Arrow? Blast Arrows might do it.
You can still one hit it just the same at Bluemoon surely?
Edit: Wow. I came back to edit in about the Blast Arrows, but I accidentally pasted, and that bit about Blast Arrows was already on my clipboard. :E
When you arive at the half roundway outside, ressurect the soldier that dies scripted in front of you and than run to the others. At the second door Ser Westley will be graped and will be taken upon that gate. Use your Blast Arrows the do as much damage as possible. (Maybe even those Conqueror's Periapt, if you have some. Can be purchased at Fournival) Eventually Ser Westley will survive und jump down. Now run. Give your Healer the order to heal und talk to Westley to stop him from moving, so he can get healed. (i think you need to be hurt or your pawn won't heal you) At the roof, just take out your Blast arrows again and do as much damage as passible to bring that bird fast down.
That was mine strategy and after the 4. or 5. try i did it. Just make sure you use the Rift Stone outside the Bluemoon Tower to set a Checkpoint und save often after you did a section. Hope this helps you :)
