Fournival has vanished
Been looking for this tub of lard for ages. I got him a not guilty verdict, I read the wiki entry that says where he should be at different times of day, but I can't effing find him.

I go to his manor in the morning and he's not there - just that weird girl sitting at the table. I wait by the Black Cat all day and he never shows. Go back to his place later and it's still just the girl.

I haven't beaten the dragon yet.

Anyone else have this glitch? Is there a fix?

I made the circuit: Fournival's house, the alehouse alley, the Black cat, all day, for two days. I even stayed inside his house through the night. Symone showed up for the evening meal, but Fournival never showed up. Ever.

And I am in the stage of the game where Madeleine is also gone. (In at least a couple of playthroughs she never showed up after I gave her cash for the last time when the guards are looking for her. She isn't out at the back gate of the city.)

Thank you, game designers, for creating merchants who: [1] sell stuff you need, and [2] cannot be found.

Check the wiki about that Madeleine quest. You have to go to her shop, then speak to a guard outside (I seem to remember), or her, and then the guard, then her. But you had to give her an idol to get this story started.

To avoid Fourneval, or another hideous beloved, make sure you speak to either Selene, or Madeleine, or The Dutchess before going to the Greatwall the final time (to confront the Dragon). They are all in Cassadis, in your house... give them gifts, sweet talk them till they glow,...and you should be safe to get a non-hideous beloved to save/sacrifice to Grigori.

I've have Aelinor, and Quina, and no issues through either playthrough

I was so frustrated searching for fatso for so long I vowed to stab him with my sword next I saw him. Looks like Arisen will follow through with that, but please not this way! Never this way!

Fatass is getting a guilty verdict next time.

You know what my personal favorite thing to do is?
Haul his ass up to the highest wall you can reach, then heave him over the side.

To quote an old paratrooper song:
"He hit the ground, the sound was SPLAT.
His blood went spurting high.
His comrades, they were heard to say:
WHAT A HELLUVA WAY TO DIE!
He lay there rolling round in the welter of his gore.
He ain't gonna jump no more."

Never has that sound been more satisfying. I gladly went to prison.

This game's "beloved" system is insane. My very first time, it was Aldous. Yes, Aldous.
That dragon dude is seriously misinformed.
