Early vocation change and archstaff?
Hello

I heard that we can go to bitterblack isle for early vocation change, that's awesome for min/maxing, but as I'd like to do a magic run this time, I would need an archstaff early too, anyone knows where I could find one early? Not an overpowered one too, I'm not here to rush the game ^^

Thanks!

You can probably get one from random drops if you're lucky, though the fastest would probably just be getting to gran soren and buying one.

But won't getting to gran soren be hard NOT to get higher than level 10 without missing any side quest?

Yah it will be a challenge to get there at level 10 due to the amount of XP you get for the mobs along the way and the huge amount for completing the quest you will want to start the escort at level 6. I tried it at level 8 and ended up being level 12 upon reaching Gran Soren.

If you really want an Archistaff, run through the Garden of Ignomity (first area of BBI after the landing) and into the Duskmoon Tower where you'll meet the merchant of the island.

He should have a Common Archistaff available for sale. If you don't have the money for it (~19k), just sell some of the stuff in your stash, you can sell directly from your stash by switching to the right-most tab in the Sell menu.

I usually go to BBI, change to Sorcerer, then run to Barroch and buy an archstaff from him.

Thanks for the advices, I never fully did the game (got it on ps3 but got bored of it), I feared BBI spoiled the game but if i can get to the first area and get a common archstaff, it perfect thanks!

The enemies in the first BBI area after the landing (Garden of Ignomity) are likely too tough to engage in combat, but you should be able run past them. The second area (Duskmoon Tower) is free of enemies. You may want to bring one of the Liftstones that should be in your stash.

BBI is not (directly) connected to the story of the main game, and the story bits that could spoil anything are more or less buried deeper within the island. The Common Archistaff you can buy from Barroch is the same you could buy in Gran Soren.

The enemies aren't actually too hard for a level 10. It's hobgoblins and a cyclops, and you just use the door to avoid the Wargs.
Grab Levin and they're easily beatable.

The problem is Death.
