Small pawn = bad?
Hi,

I would like to share something about my pawn.

I made her as a little sorceress (smallest possible) and it was fine untill post dragon.
At this point she started to die a lot despite having the best equipement from the everfall she was dying 3 times more than the rented mage pawn.
I did not understand why she died so often compared to rented mage pawn with worse equipment.
I switched her to mage and affinity to utilitarian/medicant => dying more
At this point I had an intuition that maybe she died a lot because she is much slower than the other pawn (she's always far behind the party) so I bought a metamorphosis and made her taller.
Taddaa now she died much less and became more usefull to the party.

All this to say that in this game size DOES matter!

Are you using an augment called Inflection? Because that augment has been borked since console version and it actually multiplies the damage done to pawns while they are casting spells.

Size influences several things such as a character's maximum stamina and the rate at which it regenerates, as well as their hit box (the likelihood that an attack will hit them).

Smaller characters are also lighter, which in turn means that their carry capacity is lower. Given the same equipment, a small character might be sitting at Very Heavy, where a taller character would only be at Average weight.

There is of course such a thing as confirmation bias, but It's not entirely unthinkable that as a result of being taller, and thus less encumbered by their equipment, your pawn is now moving faster and getting hit less.

Honestly , i quite liked the whole small char idea , to play one for a little time was amusing even , but they are not viable to bring around unless you are doing short farm runs.

They cant carry anything , even with the extra 20 , they are still far too horrid at this.

I would avoid such pawn just because of this limitation.

Size does matter, but it's not always bad.

Small pawns don't take more damage, but they are knocked around and staggered much easier. The movement speed is a factor, but can be overcome with augments. They also carry less before being encumbered, and don't jump as high.

But, they also have a smaller hitbox, climb faster, don't get thrown off as easily, have faster stamina recovery, and can walk under dragons and other monsters more easily.

For striders/rangers, it is a good thing to be smaller. If you have a good fighter or warrior to keep enemies away, it can also be good for mages and sorc since they can use more spells more often.

Yes I do. I'll try removong it

My pawn is now normal size and she dies less too. She is faster that's sure because she does not stay far behind the party anymore so I guess it help her to avoid some attacks.

I hate small pawns because they look ridiculous and often come with annoying voices. Damn lolicons.

Makes me sad that broken stuff hasn't been fixed after all this time.

My main character is a strider, as small as he could possibly be, short height/weight, and it works great. To be honest the only annoying part is how little he can carry, I'm constantly having to shift items from his inventory to the pawns. My main pawn is a very large tough Warrior with a Guardian inclination, so they watch my back pretty well. I may have less stamina, be staggered easier, and not have as much ability to subdue enemies but I can evade very well, move quick, dart under large enemies, and climb them a lot easier.

As for pawns, I don't see as much use for smaller pawns since they are AI controlled and most of the advantages of smaller pawns are gained through direct control, I prefer larger, unfortunately I also prefer female and everyone loves making these dainty lil flowers.

Smaller pawns are supposed to be better climbers so only hire one if he/she is a strider.

My pawn Fang gets used quite often with max ratings in all categories and she is quite small. Tho it may be because I don't dress her to look sexy but more so like a little tank.

I avoid small pawns myself. Being a Assassin I am on the small side myself, I need pawns that are normal to large size to be pack mules for me since I cannot carry a lot myself.

Agreed there the best strider for climbing a monster. Sadly there are so slow so i totally much prefer them as a ranger and give them some augment for climbing monster much longer.

For support mage and Sorcerer i think there ok due in there movement there are suppose to be the one guarding my rear and using magic attack at the rear.

Loli pawn are useless as a fighter and warrior in my opinion due to there size they cannot grapple medium enemy like bandit, goblin and etc.
