Is Search Party Glitched?

I have Reynard up to the point where he is requesting the journal entries from me, but no matter how much I buy individually (buy 1item, close, open, repeat) from him and speak with him, I cannot get the journal entries to come up for turning in.

I have all entries held in my inventory.

I have slept many days through at the inns, gone on to finish a ton of other side quests, and spoken to him first thing in the morning at a brand new location. I have left and returned to the area to reload it. No idea what else to try at this point.

Any advice? Am I trying too soon? I'm at Trials and Tribulations. Thought it'd be far enough in to turn in for Reynard :/

EDIT: Was informed that Reynard's quest cannot actually be completed until Trials and Tribulations is in the finished quest log. Problem solved.

Finish T&T first since Reynard leaves after search party and you might need affidavits he sell for the trial...

Caution! Completion of this quest removes Reynard from the game (until New Game Plus), which makes his specialized inventory unavailable for Trials and Tribulations.

Make ten purchases from Reynard to begin the quest. One must buy at least one item, then completely exit the buy menu and dialogue ten separate times in order for them to register as separate transactions.

After doing this ten times, Reynard will offer the quest and ask to be brought one piece of Scrap Iron (obtained from slaying Skeletons or Skeleton Knights).

Afterwards, make an additional five purchases from him. He should now ask for a Miasmite, a rare drop from slaying Phantoms. A Miasmite Shard and a Firefly Stone may also be combined to create Miasmite.

Next, make ten new purchases to get the final part of the quest. Reynard will ask to search for any signs of his missing father. Here are the locations of the six Journal Entries scattered all over the world :

Are you fully exiting the dialogue or just the buy menu? The quest worked for me.

I am fully exiting the dialogue each time. I've purchased at least fifty individual items.

I have everything done for the trial. I just wasn't aware until now that the quest for Reynard could not actually be completed no matter what until T&T was finished and put away into the completed quest log. All the online guides fail to mention that.

I have completed T&T and have every jornuals, but can't give them to him. Or is there other things I missed there?

You have to meet reynard on his open rotations to finish the quest.
