What class is best for a no pawn run?
I know there are enemies who are immune to all physical damage, and some who are nearly immune to physical, so that must be kept in mind, I already know the magic archer is impressive on their own.

MA,MK are really good.
Assasin>Ranger>Fighter imo.
Sorcerer would be hard if you dont spam charged holy bolt.
Mage would be pointless
Warrior is for the most hardcore players even with pawns :D

Any ranger class(strider, ranger, assassin, magic archer) and mk

My rating for solo vocations

1 Magic archer
2 Mystic knight
3 strider/ranger/assassin

Leveling assassin for their solo-enabling augments will leave you with a lot of strength, so MK would probably do you better than MA if you're trying to be really fine with your build optimization. MK also gets Sanctuary, which could be extremely useful since you won't have a Mage with you keeping you topped off on white health.
You could be a huge nerd and do a quick supply run through BBI for the Ring of Perserverance if you would rather play MA, it'd keep the less optimal stat growths from other classes down since you'd get through the vocation ranks faster

As a pure soloist, I'd rank the vocations I had the most fun with as follows:

Fighter > Warrior >> Assassin >> Strider >>> Mage

I haven't tried a solo run using Ranger, Magick Archer, Mystic Knight, or Sorcerer, just due to lack of interest (it seems I'm not a big fan of bows and magic).

The only really annoying thing for the melee vocations is the ghost enemies, which I handle by either letting them possess me and then smacking a nearby explosive barrel to kill them or just avoiding them entirely, and I guess Living Armor which I was able to still take out by using a permanently enchanted weapon. The Metal Golem in Witchwood was also kind BS as a vocation without any ranged options to hit the one medal up in the tree, but I did eventually accomplish it with my Fighter.

If you want to see how I handled various monsters using each of these vocations while solo, its all on my YouTube channel: https://www.youtube.com/user/Rubikant/playlists?shelf_id=3&view=50&sort=dd

Magic Archer is the best for solo runs. People say Mystic Knight, but to survive against some bosses on your own, mobility and ranged attacks are your best weapon. You simply won't have the time to plant your Great Magick Cannon down when fighting some bosses, like Daimon Awakened, who will cleave most of your health with one of his double phantom dragon arm attacks.

Magick Archer possesses so many abilities that cover elemental weaknesses and crowd control it's not even funny. It's literally like they planned on making a singleplayer game akin to the Dark Souls series where the main character used a Magick Bow. Regardless, there's only four skills you really need, and you can only take three but you'll swap one out.

Sixfold/Ninefold bolt - this stunlocks, knocks down, kills single targets like you would not believe.

Riccochet Hunter - in Bitterblack Isle, this is all you need. Shoots round corners, hits everything on the map, will kill things without you ever seeing them.

Explosive Rivet/Explosive Volley - anything that is strong against Lightning, Holy or Ice will die to this. Plants five explosives in an enemy and then detonates when hit with your daggers, for stunlock and huge fire damage.

Hunter Bolt - In Gransys, this is a fantastic problem solver. Highlight 10 targets, harpies, goblins, bandits, whatever, loose, and they'll all die in a white heatseeking missile barrage. Wonderful. Replace Riccochet Hunter with this in Gransys and swap back for Bitterblack Isle.

You won't even need the Assassin augments for working solo or at night. You won't need anything. Just dodge roll to stay alive and conserve stamina by not sprinting, and you're good to go.

I beat the game on hard mode solo with an assassin, haven't visited BBI yet though.

Magic daggers are very easy to get once you reach Grand Soren, and they're all the magic damage you will need for the main game.

His versatility really helps a lot. A bow is really nice for killing harpies or bandits, for example, but when facing saurians or wolves sword/daggers+shield are much more effective.

♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥, that's a great idea! Just use a magic weapon of course! Thanks so much Dark TroZo!

Eh, no problem, I bought the game with the sole idea of soloing it and was also pretty scared of all the fabled physical inmune enemies.

Truth is, ghosts are easy to avoid, you will only need magick attack to kill chimeras' lion head.

You can also try Magick Archer of course, it's just personally I don't find very appealing the idea of forced auto-aim, specially now that we can play with a mouse just fine.

Bow users can slowly take out a Chimeras' lion head, striders have that fire ability to take it out.

I can't remember, but aren't you forced to fight at least one Living Armour to access the Fallen City for the first time, or can you just run past it? Living Armour are the one true Assassin Build deterrent and what caused me to consider Magick Archer as a primary.

They do insane damage with each hit, and have access to a very one-hit-kill AoE spell centered to dislodge anyone behind them/scaling them...and once their armour pops off, they become wholly immune to anything but Magick Damage.

Solo runs where you run by everything kind of defeats the purpose, though. Anyone can do that, if they're just hunting the bosses. Only Awakened Daimon provides any real challenge in Bitterblack Isle and even then, most people just blast arrow him or climb him and beat the despair right out of his face anyway.

Basically be a magick archer. Pick up the augments from the Sorc/mage classes that increase your magic damage to really up it's game.

MA is hands down the most powerful class in the game. By far. Sure other classes might do some things better, might be better at scaling bosses, or be more efficent at killing ur dragon online etc. At the end of the day, in 99% of all situations, the MA is going to outshine eveything once you've got the hang of it.

You can if you perfect block his attack.

Yeah, you HAVE to fight one living armor to get past the room before the fallen city.
