Strider to rank 9 for the Leg-Strength augment, which synergises well with Sinew from the Fighter tree.
Then you're good to go. If you plan on being a Magick Archer you are going to want to grab Attunement (Rank 9 Mage) for +10% Magick Damage, and Rank 9 Sorcerer to grab Acuity which grants +20% Magick Damage and Articulacy, which decrease spell intonement time by 20% (stackable with a Wyrmkings Ring for 35% decrease in casting time on spells)
wouldnt assasin be a better choice than magic archer because it uses the same weapons as my previous classes
Yes, assassins do use the same weapons as a Strider. That and assassins, at least personally, feel alot more engaging than MA.
Leg strength makes you 1 rank lighter (in terms of equipment load).
Is warriors carry weight passive a good one to get ?
Assassin is a good class to gain levels in, disregarding augments. It provides pretty decent growth in Physical Attack and Stamina, but has weak growth in Physical and Magical Defence.
I'd say keep with Assassin and then switch to Warrior, as they both have good growth towards damage dealing with melee and bows, and the Warrior tree gets Clout eventually, buffing your damage even more.
You don't need to swap classes once you reach rank 9 if you don't want to. Farming Vocation ranks is more viable after you reach level 100, and in some ways slightly easier and less stressful, if you're following a build plan.
EDIT:
The Strider is all about dagger skills, although they do get Downpour Volley which is great when finally changed to Hailstorm Volley. The bow on the Strider/Assassin does more damage at close range and loses a lot of damage and accuracy at medium/long range - but Striders get Brainsplitter, which is an extremely powerful dagger skill.
Ranger is all about using their longbow. It gains bonus damage at longer ranges and gains one of the best bow abilities, tenfold flurry, at the expense of not gaining Skullsplitter/Brainsplitter which is one of the most damaging attacks in the game.
Strider has way better dagger and bow skills than assassin, but worse bow skill than ranger.
Dagger: leaping stone, skull splitter, mad dash, ensanre etc.
Bow: Downpour Volley, Shriek Dart, Fracture Dart
Sinew sees the biggest value on child characters, sometimes adding as much as 100% of their carry weight, this is true. Early on though, with so many useless augments out there, and the need to acquire money and items to upgrade equipment, plus being weak and requiring a lot of curatives and so forth, Sinew has a use even for characters with 100kg natural carry capacity, even if it is literally only a 20% boost instead of a 100% one.
I don't use it now, but I've always looked at is as an augment that allows me to wear my armour and carry my curatives for free.
It also extends the size of the weight limits - meaning you can be almost 50% weight capacity at 60kg and still be classed as Very Light, in some cases.
They actually work very well together as Sinew increases the range of the Very Light weight class.
