Don't you get better rewards if you do both? Or do you get better rewards but also cause the opposing faction to become permanently hostile?
I did no honor among thieves first and just told the guy in Cardassis to man up and accept his fate instead of killing the female thieves. At a later point I did Thick as Thieves and attacked the male thieves outside the fort no problem. I even killed a few isolated thieves within the fort without them caring. The only caveat might be if you killed the leader of either group.
Thick as Thieves will however require an all female party, or with males who are suitably shaved and dressed before you can talk to the leader.
Not only that, Ophis will attack you if you're carrying Maul's badge.
well, there are 3 conditions to finish those 2 quests. Usually you only fulfill 2 conditions to receive the most rewards. A and B contradict each other. C is to kill stuff. So it'e either A+C or B+C
That's not how that's supposed to work. Once you have the amity badge from Ophis you can walk around her fort with men. Some bandits will always spawn, but not the ones on the roads near Heavenspeak or Maul's Fort.
But if you are carrying Maul's badge when you first meet Ophis, she's supposed to attack right away. Then the fort goes hostile.
