Really, though, just as beating DS at level 1 is not easy, beating BBI on level 120 is not easy. Either cheese it with items or level up.
Just gotta channel your inner Randy Orton.

Upon entering the room? He gained a friend! BBI is so much fun :3.

1-10 Mage
11-99 sorcerer
100-200 assassin
I will have both attack and magic at around 500, which is pretty good. I went this build so I could play any vocation at level 200 and be good at it.
I know difficulty ramps on NG+, which is why I wanted to clear BBI before the new cycle. I will also do NG+ on hard, so most likely won't even touch BBI. I just think the place is too hard to be enjoyable, is like blightown 2.0
NG+ has no effect on difficulty. Only the difficulty setting does.
Remember to equip Clout+Vehemence, bloodlust if you have it, and if you're still having trouble breaking damage thresholds, either autonomy or Opportunism and focus on climbing the bosses. Bloodlust if you're willing to deal with the timing of it. Also, sword has a larger strength boost than daggers do, so they should in theory be better if your daggers don't have a high enough attack to damage the enemies.
Sadly its with a Warrior not an Assassin though. There is also a solo Strider and Fighter run on the channel so you might get better tips from those since they are more similar to Assassin, but they are full runs not just BBI.
BBI, as people have mentioned, is best tackled with Magick (initially anyway) due to steep Physical Damage thresholds on many things.
When I played back on consoles I was an Assassin like you and I struggled with Eliminators, Elder Ogres and the like. Not to mention the ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ Living Armor -.- haha.
This time through I'm a Mystic Knight and the only thing that was difficult to kill was the bloody Wyvern because you have to climb it :p
*edit*: iam assasin without pawns (becouse you get more xp with the talisman and solo run)
Incidentally, Daimon is far from the toughest enemy in BBI :p
Dodge roll all day every day.
