I love Mouse and keyboard. If you're an archer type, then it is a must. So much precision aiming. If you're a melee type? I'd say controller hands down. Your mouse will thank you. If you're a mage type? It varies, but I prefer MnKB. I just don't like the auto aim of the staves attacks.

I agree. If you play any kind of archer, throw away the gamepad, and play with K/M. Otherwise don't touch the keyboard, and play with gamepad. The melee controls feel a bit clumsy using the keyboard.

This is one of the games, that need both control schemes.

I prefer Mouse and Keyboard and always will.

If you have a logitech gaming mouse, specifically the Logitech G600, there is a mouse button for your ring finger that acts as a shift key. You could in theory use this for the skill toggles.

The only problem with this game is that you can't directly keybind a skill, you have to hold the skill toggle button down then use a skill. But with a good gaming mouse, like the Logitech G600 you can technically just macro it. Greatest gaming mouse I've ever owned, even better then a Razer naga. You can get it for 40$ on ebay.

Here is what my macros look like for each skill:

Alt down
delay 120
Mouse Left down
delay 120
Mouse Left up
Alt up

This means I press a single button to do my secondary attack instead of holding down alt and pressing mouse left. This is also great for jump attacks, too and makes Warrior OP with strong jump attack with a single keypress!

I can't imaging anyone playing this game with MS/KB, even when I'm a ranger/strider, I still need to mix my dagger and bow attacks to maximize my dmg and still able to dodge and perform climbing along with other moves at the same time,

DD is more about archer and shooting, even though MS/KB feels good with this game, but DD is designed with a gamepad in mind.

As a Warrior, Controller is a MUST.
Makes it sooo much better

Controller with a little bit of keyboard as a side dish.

Unlike many ex-console games, M&KB is fine. Personally, I never use controllers, because I don't like them.

Thankfully it is one of those games where all input methods are active simultaneously. Gives you the best of all worlds

M+K for classes that need to aim, controller for melee. M+K is kinda uncomfortable but it makes aiming great. You can snipe enemies with magic that's just a lot more awkward with a controller.
