Game-Breaking Bug - King's Cursed Belt Causing Crashes
It would seem that the King's Cursed Belt chestpiece is causing my game to crash when the game attempts to load my save file. I know it's the belt because I was having a problem with equipping the item and leaving the menu. Knowing it was crashing, I decided to see if loading into the game directly with the item would fix it, so I equipped the belt to my pawn, saved the game, and allowed it to crash by exiting the 'ESC' menu.

Now, whenever I load my save file, it crashes before I am able to play. I am verifying the cache as I type this up. When this finishes, I am going to attempt to load the game, and then try changing my pawn's body type and see if that might fix it (thank god I bought the secret of metamorphosis).

Edit: Cache verified and body-type changed. Did not fix it.

Oooh, I wouldn't have done that if I were you.
If a model is missing a model is missing. Doesn't matter what size you are, and in this game, I don't even think they have alternate ideals for different genders.

Hopefully they patch it in for you, otherwise you'd have save edit it off, if you can.

Thing is, the model loads fine in the equipment menu.

Perhaps it's a lighting then?

Ah, it's probably an animation issue actually.

Can confirm this causes crashes. Have heard reports from other players suggesting the same thing.

That belt looks really good. This needs to be fixed, please! :)

It actually works just fine on my female main character, but when I equip it on my male pawn, the crash occurs. So it might just be a pawn issue, or it is a male character issue.

It's a male character issue - my male main character crashes to desktop as soon as I exit equip screen.

If you equip the belt, save on the menu, and then try to play, your game will crash.

Because you saved, when you load your save back up, you'll instantly crash.

Game breaking.

Had the same problem yesterday. In the end I had to restart using hard mode to play while retaining my stuff

Well, it is cursed.

That should have been a giant red flag.

Wow I just got the king belt last night good thing I hate it and threw it in the stash going to sell it to the vendor as soon as I get home that that bloody belt is cursed

I'm guessing it has to do with the male model character since in the console versions it would remove the bandages on the chest.

this. my main is female, pawn is male. it worked fine on my female main, and i upgraded it to rank 2. i wanted to equip it on my pawn (male) just to rest at the inn to update him as a warrior then switcht he belt back to my main (female and working at least last i tried) and continue playing. I narrowed this down to the belt and did a google on it, seems im not the only one with the issue. what made it worse for me, personally, is I replaced the title videos with shai labeouf and after about a dozen restarts of the game I believe i have lost my hearing and had to put the old title videos back. it wa sno longer epic after 12 times in a row. this bug has ruined that for me lol

a band-aid could be locking the belt to female gender. like a few other items I have seen, it's doable. and should prevent accidental attempts to equip it on a male. I tend to save compulsively, but there has gotta be a handful of people out there who let an hour or so fly by without thinking to save and without doing anything that may have triggered an autosave. imagine when they crash before saving lol
