That damn Drake!!
/rant on

So while out exploring i cam across my first drake, and WTF is up with that. I got so pissed off with it i ended up using a trainer (first time in years i've felt the need to) to kill the damn thing.

I didn't mind it had a crap tonne of health and was hard to fight, but seriously, WTF do you put the only vulnerable spot as it's heart, which is damn hard to hit.

Think i spent over an hour on that one beast, one of the most obnoxious, annoying, and unsatisfying fights i've ever had. Especially since everything around it was stupidly easy to kill.

/rant over

So, on a more serious note, i don't remember that first brake being so hard in the end it became more frustrating than anything and as soon as i killed it i immediately saved so i wouldn't have to face it again >.<

It will respawn after 7 days though ;) You're just underleveled. It's not hard at all if you're appropriately geared. Also, weak spots are a running theme in this game ;)

if you come across something that you cant beat its the sign that you need to go level up somewhere else and then come back mate its not the sign to sttart cheating :D

You used a trainer... Instead of training harder, leveling up and coming back with better weapons and armors...

Tis not aught how you play legit, cos.

what was your level, class, pawns, and so on. Without this info its hard to tell if was too early for you to fight it or if you are just bed.

I was around level 25 when I fought it and it was still a hard fight but a fun one.

Lol, kids these days.

I saw the drake and thought "I'll come back in 100 or so levels..."
You saw it and thought "Time for a trainer."

Ahh, I remember my first Drake when I played the game - fight took 3 Days and 4 Nights (about 3-4 Hours). I didn't run because I was a stubborn ass, yet when I inevitably won - it felt like beating Dark Souls...awesome.

You just turned a single enemy in DD into almost a full game's worth of time... Gotta admire that stubbornness :D

Was lvl25 as well, full 3 star eps and armour on both me and my pawn, and 2 lvl27 pawns. As i said given the surrounding area was no trouble, to the point i sneezed and 100's died, i was surprised at how bad it was

No i saw, fought for an hour, got pissed of and THEN went for the trainer. Not everyone has the time to sit in front of a screen for 12 hours like you kids. Some of us have lives, wives, kids , work and real life commitments

I have news for you.

This game does not scale enemies to your puny level. It's a real game, instead of casual fests like any elder scrolls game since Oblivion. Or CoD. Or whatever game AAA game you can buy today.

The focus in game developement has switched a decade ago to the usually mentaly handicapped, unable to learn from their mistakes, noisy casual crowd.

Why don't you go elsewhere in the game, and try to level up a bit, instead of complaining about a thing, that works as intended? And leave this game as it is. A bit less casual oriented?

Yes, I know I sound like an ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥, but I am really annoyed about the people, who try to ruin gaming for me.

I used to farm that drake back on the consoles.. You are just too low to kill it right now.. Think it reaches farm statue when you're around level 50ish. Also you'll be far more apt to kill it as a ranger though, that 10 fold (or whatever it's called) arrow just shreds that Drake like nobodies business. Drops it each and every time, then your Pawns just own it while it's down. Rinse and repeat.

That heart is difficult to hit but it's a dragon and dragons are supposed to be hard to kill.. All the big bosses have a weakness, it's just a matter of finding and exploiting it.. Like the Cycolops eye..

Maybe try reading what i wrote? I've played and beaten DDAD before, and don't remember the first drake you encounter being THAT bad. Sure it was a tough fight, but not that anal

So you're failure to play the game without cheating is because people who can are kids who have no lives.. umm that's pretty funny.. You gain levels in this game very fast, especially if you're taking down the big bosses you come across (cyclops, Chimera and doing quest, but yes only kids can level up and play this game without cheating.)

Sure getting to level 200 is a chore, but you can easily get to level 50+ (which is plenty to turn that drake fight into a 3 minute affair) in about 5 - 6 hours, probably even quicker if you're actually blazing through the game..
