Pawns with purple names?
I found a pawn in the Rift named "Holly" that has a purple name, both within and without the rift. Can you tell me what that means? I never saw it in the console version of either release, and google doesn't get anyhing. I think it must be new.

EDIT: She was a level 25 Ranger at the time and her Arisen is named "Tallgeese", if that interests you.

I think I read somewhere you can use a color code for names, but I forgot where and don't know how to.

I'm curious about this too.

I believe this happens when you have a certain family setting on and it puts in the name that was set in for people with family settings...It's for people that put in rude words and stuff. Just turn off the family setting then their names should appear as normal.

The 'common name' or whatever you have to choose from the list? Yeah, might be... but why isn't OP's other pawn using their SFW alias, then?

So in this case..you'd see both names...and if family settings..just the fake name...and purple?

If you don't have them on you see the name they wrote down for their pawn...like if they named their pawn shizzybuzz you will see that, with family settings you'll see the set name. Not both if you don't have family settings on.

oh..from what I've seen..you can see both names...when first selecting...not rolling around in a group.
Archmortal Jan 17, 2016 @ 11:02pm
Remember the Moniker you have to pick for your character and pawn when you make them? That's what you're seeing. As has been mentioned, only shows in purple like that when the family settings are on and flagged words are in the name.

Well, once again then... why are only one of their pawns SFW-ed? Unless if "Holly's" player/creator had family settings on, maybe? Maybe that causes you to send Pawns using the alias?

Ohhh... I get it. "Lydia" was the other pawn's creator's chosen name, and so didn't need to be censored. I get it.

Oh when selecting them. Yeah they both show up...I thought you meant when walking around and fighting that you see both. My bad.

Well if he's seeing holly then the topic creator must have family settings on. If he turns it off he will see the real name the creator of the pawn set.
TurboQuest Jan 17, 2016 @ 11:33pm
From what I read, you can't really turn on or off the family settings on the PC version but they are automatically in effect if you use an offensive name. Was written somewhere in an FAQ about changes in the PC version.
