Help with Final Boss.
Spoilers

I'm trying to fight this Dragon as a mystic knight and the heart is in a position I can't hit the bloody unless he dips down which he doesn't do very often. After hours I had to give it up. What kinds of moves should I be using, or should I respect as something with better ranged. I'm also wondering if the "surrender" option and letting the dragon kill my loved one will let me start New Game+ so I can do the whole game again for another cycle to power up, I'm really getting crushed.

Alternatively does anyone have an overpowered pawn or two that know the fight really well? If so I could friend you and see if the NPCs can handle it for me the first time around. I might need to figure out how to drop some people from my friends list and add you if such is the case.

I could also be missing something obvious, so general tactical advice is appreciated. I'd hate to have gotten this far and leave the dragon un-slain

Doesnt mystic knights cannon absolutely decimate the final boss? If your struggling on the final phase there should be balistas there to help you take him out.

And no it doesnt. You just get a cutscene then game over.

Did you try climbing up the dragon? And isn't a balista around?

It has been a long time since I killed it and I never did as a mystic knight, so I dunno if that would help.

Great cannon should rip this boss apart. As others have said, if all else fails then try climbing.

I tried Great Cannon, the projectiles don't seem to home in on the heart and when they do hit they don't seem to be doing any damage. Also while there is a Ballista sequence, I didn't see any located around the site of the final battle, I'll have to check again.

Maybe I'm using Great Cannon wrong. I've been trying to create it right underneath him.

I tried climbing onto his stomach, unlike other monsters I climb easily he's a bit of a pain. I suppose I can keep trying. It's the bloody camera and of course Stamina issues since I don't have anything in Strider or Ranger.

I dont reccomend creating the cannons right under him maybe in front of him will work
If it fails try using frigor with a staff (the mystic knight can use staves), it does ice damage and can hit the heart
Or try climbing on the heart

Two words... Abyssal anguish. It makes you're sword about 3 meters long and causes shockwaves on hit. You should be able to just shred through its health and hit it's heart without even climbing on jump swings. Abyssal anguish is the upgraded form. It's basically the most fun ability a mystic knight has and extremely useful and powerful just for the doubled sword length.

Also, Grigori is weak to dark, not ice so using dark enchantments should work.

Everything said, if you can't kill it you shouldn't have managed to get to it yet. You also realize that you can climb up the legs to get at the heart right...

As a final word of advice, I wouldn't recommend playing a mystic knight until you've gotten at least 50 levels in a non-magic using class. They only get 2 attack per level which is terrible and it kind of gimps you late game (at least that was my experience... though I probably played a lot more poorly my first time).

But yeah... it sounds like you've forgotten how to climb or weren't aware of the mechanic... and if you made it to the dragon without knowing that you can climb large enemies then props(?) to you.

I'll level up some more and then try it with that abillity, I'm only level 43 I did like 27 levels of fighter and then switched to Mystic Knight.

I *DO* know how to climb monsters, I just have trouble with Grigori because of the way he moves his legs around, and then I'm not used to climbing UNDER the monster. Unlike the flight scene he doesn't seem to have a weak point on top of him, though I can check again (I left back to a previous checkpoint so I need to do all of Tainted Mountain again).

I also need to find where these Ballistas are for when he's flying, assuming that was good information.

Also don't get me wrong, I've taken him down to 3 bubs (3 health bars remaining) which means I've hurt him, I just haven't been doing enough damage fast enough and he outlasts my supply of recovery items.

I confess to some "concern" that this isn't the last boss, I hope I get a chance to resupply if that's the case.

So basically moar levels, Abyssal Anguish, aim my great cannon better, and get better at climbing apparently.

IF u still have problem u can rent my pawn that actually wrecked it to the bones... just add me as friend "sabris" the pawn name

There are about 5 ballistas in the area. If you can't get to the heart, you can stay on its side under the wing. You won't do that much damage there, but you'll rarely fall off from there.

Try exposing his heart first, projectiles should home in after that.

Sabris, in a worst case scenario I'll try that. I had similar thoughts about finding some bigger, badder, pawns. Unfortunatly it seems rather difficult to rent specific one even doing a friend search since if there is a way to input a specific name I haven't been able to find it.

I just removed a couple of friends (I had a full list) and invited you.

Got you, that could be the problem. I was using the cannon in general and then rushing in to try and smack the heart when it became exposed.

Maybe you need a better weapon/enhance your current one or need to level up as a sorc for a little while? The ballistas are around the outer edges of the boss area. You gotta climb to get to them.
