Lantern is still bugged

The "Add Oil" option was bugged on Xbox360 and it continues to be bugged here. Here is what the problem is:

1) Have multiple Half-Full Lanterns in Inventory.
2) Equip one and wait for it to reach Half Full Status.
3) Fill it with Oil.
4) When returning to gameplay the Lantern you had just filled, and was listed as Full, will immediately change to Half Full.

You have to de-equip the lantern before adding oil to it otherwise you're just wasting oil. So you have to perform a lengthy operation (Long animation of putting away lantern, adding oil and then animation of equipping it) just to get a bright lantern again (I'm not confusing a wet lantern with a dim lantern).

In the first video I am unable to fill the Half Full Lantern no matter what I try, every attempt wastes a Oil Flask. In the second video the Lanterns can be filled correctly.

The problem is intermittent and extremely annoying when it happens. The problem exists on the Xbox360 version of the game as well.

I tried doing this shortly after I made the initial post and I couldn't reproduce the issue, it might only happen when you are carrying multiple Lanterns in your inventory or it might involve you getting wet at some point and then re-equipping the lantern to get it lit again that results in a bugged state that breaks the Add Oil option, or something.

I'll have to mess with it a bit to get some definitive instructions on reproducing the issue. It's definitely the exact same issue I encountered on Xbox 360 eons ago though.

Was wondering that aswell. When I unequip/equip lantern it seems to auto-refill without using oil at all.

I've had no problems with my lantern, then again I only add oil to it when it completely runs out. I also have a skill that makes it brighter

I had an instance (unrecorded) where it dimmed because the oil was running out and no matter what I did (unequipping and re-equipping, adding oil or a combination of these) the lantern my character would equip would always be dim. I admit I didn't try to Combine oil with a Lantern because I should be able to Add Oil without issue, and combining seems less intuitive than the option specifically stating that oil will be added to the Lantern.

While unequipping and re-equipping might work (When it isn't bugged), it's a very time consuming process as you have to watch the animation of unequipping it and equipping it which isn't good mid-combat,

Okay, so from what I can tell you having more than 1 lantern and one of them Half-Full, prevents you from filling the Lantern properly no matter what you try. In order to fix the problem you need to discard (or store) the excess lanterns.

WTF!? I have to refill my lantern every 3-4 minutes. This is fu cking crazy!

do yourself a favor. put lantern on hotkey 1 and elite lantern on hotkey 2. this allows for different brightness depending on what you need and allows for faster switching if one goes out
