This game needs hotkeys
I would really like a few hotkeys to access parts of the interface. M for the map, J for quests. Maybe C to adjust character loadout.

Also being able to set a quest as active from the map would be great. I now have to open up the map, remember the name of the quest I want to track, switch to quests, recall the name and look for it and press enter.

I'm aware the interface is dated and I'm in no way expecting a total overhaul, but a few very simpel changes will make it a lot better already.

You sound a bit spoiled by the newer and easier games. This one doesn't hold your hand and requires a bit more effort. It's fine the way it is.

Diablo II had these things. In the year 2000.

Not spoiled at all, I just find myself constantly clicking through menus until I get where I want to get. The "holding your hands" part has nothing to do with that. I'm not asking for quicksaves, or multiple slots or anything.

Just because this game brings feelings of nostalgia (even though its not THAT old) doesn't mean a few simple changes can't be applied. It will not make it less authentic or something.

I agree that people whine about certain things too much, but hotkeys like a map or some such are nice at times. That's something even I'd have loved. It doesn't NEED it, but that doesn't mean it wouldn't be nice.

I say that as someone who has been head over heels for the game since the original release.

Diablo had a map overlay because it was a top down. The point of the map is you are suppose to stop and open it, it wasn't designed around a computer control scheme anyways. Remember, this is a port first and foremost. A modder will likely see to this in the future though. I have found myself pushing M countless times to open my map, but hey, muscle memory xD.

You're an idiot. Seriously giving out about people wanting M to bring up the map and J to bring up the quest log and C for equipment/loadout. Wow. There's purists and there's you. You're just a cradle of ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥. I never thought there would genuinely be a single person who would argue against improving bad UI design.

The game needs hotkeys. We're not playing on consoles. We're playing on PC and having to press multiple buttons that takes 1-2seconds each time you open them just to view the damn map isn't on.

1) How do menu hotkeys have anything to do with handholding?
2) How is he spoiled by asking for an improvement to a product he paid money for?

Maybe Kashra Fall is from the time when you had to actually draw your own maps on graph paper.

I agree with you, OP and Dr.Larry. It would be perfection with these simple things in place. It hinders momentum and is quite tedious after some time. Hopefully someone will mod this if possible.

Being able to hotkey map to m would certainly be welcome. Generally, I find that though the game is alot of fun, navigating the UI is absolutely horrible.

Also, being able to scroll in menus with mouse scroll would be absolutely wonderful!

Hopefully we'll get a patch somewhere down the line that makes the interface a bit more PC friendly.

Hopefully they would update with more mappable buttons and hotkeys but if not, perhaps mods will fix it.

I was simply pointing out that it has nothing to do with newer games. Of course, that really wasn't the OP's point anyways. It was that we have a keyboard, and we could be accessing our menus using the currently unused keys, rather than have a generic menu button that forces us to navigate to our different menus.

thank you for pointing that out. nearly bought the game. this showed me how sh!tty the port must be, thanks for the warning!

The game is great though. The UI less so.

If he doesn't think the game should have a map, than that's an entirely different conversiation to there being a hotkey for it.
