Why do we have to friend people to rent pawns, that is kind of a garbage way to implement something within a game...

EDIT: They should just be hosted on a server or something, and people can hop and and grab them, regardless of friend list.

You dont have to, it just makes them free.
If they aren't on your friends list and higher level than you, you have to pay rift crystals to rent them

i think its just to get some friends for the game and maybe use their pawns owo

Pawns are going to be free to use anyway if they are your level. The only need to friend everyone is so that lower level players can use higher level pawns for free instead of paying like they should.

In truth you should never have any, ANY, need to use RC on pawn renting. Save it for the DLC loot farming or buying stuff from a pawn shop.

People want pawns for free for some reason. I never saw much reason to buy a pawn that would be better then you. I don't need them to play for me, which with this system, they actually will in some ways. Some areas had tricks to them and if a pawn you rent knows the trick, they will go and finish the trick for you.

It seemed like renting a higher level pawn was just a way to let someone else play for you.

As for a direct response to your question, the pawn system basically uploads your pawns latest changes when you use an inn. Then when people are looking for pawns, that "copy" is what they will see and can rent. Then they get the copy of your pawn at that level with those abilities set up.

As they play, they cotinue leveling, but the pawn doesn't gain experience. Eventually they give up on your pawn and let it go. They can send a gift back with the pawn or just send it back with a rating. After they return your pawn, the next time you use an inn, you get whatever gift they sent and the rating of your pawn gets updated.

here is the reasoning i have come up with:

everytime i would rent a pawn (on ps3) i would then play for like 10 levels and then realize that the pawns were just lagging behind and werent as useful. sure i got more xp but i would have to replace them every few levels to keep them current.. with this ic an rent a pawn a few levels above me to keep things on the level xp and difficulty wise, but not have to replace them as often, also the owner w ill get a better reward from me because i wil have rented the pawn longer. teh RC rewards are time based.

Exactly, a few levels higher, somewhere around 300 to 1000 rift crystals. Nothing expensive really. Something you will likely earn really easily. Definitely no need to friend people to borrow their pawn for free.

Some awesome advice save most of your money until Gran Soren tehn pimp out your pawn so when everyone is getting there and getting new pawns from other players they will more likely rent it
