How "Japanese" is the game?

I'm thinking about buying the game. The problem for me is that I don't like JRPGs, only western RPGs like Witcher, Dragon Age or Skyrim. The developers are Japanese, but the video material looks more western. Should I buy it or is it the wrong game for me?

as a kid growing up this is the kind of game we wished we could play 20 years ago. action is fast monsters and fights are fun. atmosphere is great feels like your playing DND. all the old monsters are there goblins dragons it's a great homage to old school dnd. As for the story well let's just say it doesn't get in the way this is an action game. there is story to be found but it's not the typical japense rpg. more like bloodborne.

The world is similar to the Middle Ages and you do not see in the game Kawaii armor , kimono , samurai , and so on .

It's a western RPG done by japaneses, exactly like Dark Souls, don't worry and go for it.

It's a JRPG with western gameplay, good western actors, and western themes, but none of the grimdark 2reel4me edgy stuff that's so common in western material.

In theme I'd say it's western, but it still feels like a japanese game in terms of combat.

Really its a Western styled RPG. It's only called a JRPG because it was made by a Japanese company. Like Dark Souls.

Thank god. The jpop song was so out of place. and this song is far more fitting to the setting.
