Is it me or dragons dogma dark arisen is more fun than the sequal?

The original is a better game in almost every way.

Its such a let down that the sequel doesn't even try to improve on just about anything, and in fact just about everything is nerfed or inferior to the original. And, after a decade of waiting no less.

I just don't know how many more gaming let downs I can take. Personally, there has been too many recently. Its a huge bummer.

Oh for me that's simple: DD2 was the last one.

I also enjoyed playing the first game more than the second one, because I can't play the second one.
It's the worst optimized game I've seen in a long while and trying to do anything at 10 FPS is miserable.
Such a massive disappointment from the only game I was excited for in years.

I sure am looking forward to that 49.99-59.99 DLC that'll fix the game. Sure is awesome to pay $70 plus the garbage MTX and DRM it comes bundled with, then also another payment to get the game fixed.

I really enjoy both, but I do like 2 more. IMO I think the story overall is better told and more effective, open world is more fun to explore and the combat feels better. 1 though has a better dragon (Grigori is goated, both as a character and the setpiece of a fight), better dungeons and better endgame. I hope they will expand the endgame in 2 with a harder difficulty and somehting similar to BBI :)

Player movement alone is enough to make you feel like you're a F1 Racer in DDDA compared to a slow Honda Civic in DD2. So not only is movement slower in DD2, the paths are longer and loaded with constant annoyances. Instead of loading the roads with hundreds of goblins they should've made more caves and dungeons and made them threatening.

I also hate the HP loss system in DD2. There's HP loss in DD1 but you can heal it with curatives so you don't have to go looking for a campsite every ten minutes to be in top condition. Curatives actually have VALUE in DD1. DD2 made mage healing too strong, it casts so fast and you only need to run through the bubble. Since the carry limit is so slow you just might as well ditch everything except a couple of wakestones, ferrystones, and an elite camping kit.

A remake with next gen graphics from DD1 would make a way better game than DD2.

Gaming industry has turned into fast food. They charge you the same price as a dine in restaurant while implementing quarterly decreases in the size, and or quality of the product.

I have better things to do than eat a McDragma for 70 fun bucks with a DLC upcharge for cut content, especially when I already own the the gourmet version.

I and anyone else who thinks before spending money recognized its a Capcom IP and therefore not worth buying until they add DLC then re-release with the DLC included, on sale because lmao paying full price for such a scummy company

Why is it that we all know film sequels will likely not be as good as the first, but we all expect gaming sequels to be better? Maybe the two are more similar than we think; as technology improves, both become more focused on effects and eye-candy, at the expense of narrative and content.
