Stupid spiny nuts....

In one hour of farming for this upgrade item, of which I only need five, I was able to collect the following:
-35 toad mushrooms
- 40 mushrooms
- 40 rocks
- 100 flowers of different types
- 50 large nuts
-60 small nuts
->100 monster dropped craft items as the monsters just kept on coming,

- and 4 (FOUR!) spiny nuts

What the heck!!

Out of curiosity, what are you upgrading?

While it is true that you can forge things, which I frequently do for rarer items, it does take a really long time ingame for the forger to get things done.
And I'm upgrading the "Pleached Limbs" bow for my pawn, as it looks to be the best shortbow until post-game or BBI

Rest at the inn to align the time to morning.
Give him an item.
Rest again.
24 hours have passed.

Repeat steps 2-4 as necessary.

Turn off Online Mode for better results.

I guess I'd have to turn to offline mode, as time does not advance for the forger if you rest (in my game at least)
I have tried 4 times to see if that works, and every time the same "Not quite done yet...

He's quite precise about time of day. If you ran to give him the item first thing in the morning, rested til the next day, and ran to get the item from him, I'd give it a minute real-time and try again and see if he's done. It's worked for me before.
