Ancient Quarry Knowledge

Stuck at 2* for the Ancient Quarry. Did the quest, bought the promissary notes to open up the other hidden passages, won't pop. Wiki has no info on it either.

I expect all the map is uncovered, so the main guess would be whether you tried approaching it from the Shadow Fort side before opening it up? This would obviously require a new playthrough at this point.

Have you searched all chests and mined all deposits (shouldn't be an issue)? Did you check the dead ends before opening up the hidden passages?

Yeh. I guess it's similiar situation to that part of Dripstone where if you miss it you have to get it in NG+.

Three stars for this is fairly simple, it's unlike the Dripstone cave where your pawn has to comment on the locked door by entering the cave from the rear entrance.

For the quarry, at least for me:
1. A comment on the weighted switch where you get the key behind(got my first 'Gained knowledge' here)
2. A comment on the locked door very near the shop area(second 'Gained knowledge' here)
3. Once I reached the area where I encountered the Orge, I got 3 stars for the area

Prior to the three stars, I have made effort to visit every nook and cranny, where possible inside the quarry via Gran Soren's entrance. Pawns commented "A dead end..." in some of those areas inside. Note that the map isn't even fully explored when I attained full knowledge. Hope this helps.
