Well, escort quests are the fastest quests - 15 sec at most. So I doubt it's a problem.
-
But i Finally got him escorted so I could complete the lost and found quest. Now I gotta complete this witch's brew quests so I can do this everfall quest. What do you mean itonly takes 15 sec to do an escort quest ? I swore off of escort quests since it took sooooo long.
Well, this is one of the escort quests that lead you to new areas, and it is smack dab in the middle of the area with the Chimeras (and I'm only level 12), thankfully I'm not completely new to the game, so I am able to handle them just fine (provided I don't get a pack of Saurons on top of them), however my escort target is not able to handle it. So I spend the entire time using my spells with crowd control to keep the mobs away from him, and then tossing up heals in between.
If it wasn't a critical quest that I needed to turn in, I'd either move on until I've leveled up or let his ass die and be done with it. If I do that, though, I can't access the areas beyond Witch Wood because I couldn't turn in Lost and Found.
The developers put a lot of thought into the combat system, and did an okay job at creating a somewhat engrossing story, but outside of that they seem to have phoned it in.
btw
how do you 'setup' or 'make' portcrystals ? I've seen a few but they seem to be random items.
You will find your first portcrystal in the Everfall while doing the quest, Lure of the Abyss.
You get an eternal ferrystone from your Tools storage once you reach Grand Soren (comes "free" with Dark Arisen). The Eternal Ferrystone replenishes every new playthrough (NG+), and you can actually repurchase it from the Black Cat if you sold it or lost it somewhere.
Next, you can find 3 "fixed" portcrystals (Next to Cassardis main gate, outside Grand Soren's Pawn Guild and in BBI docks) where you can port to, you simply must wander near them to activate them.
Finally there are 5 "pickable" portcrystals per playthrough that you can Use (place) anywhere (in the world map, that is) you want. Placed portcrystals carry over to next playthroughs, and new ones replenish every new NG+ in their usual location, so you can get another 5 every playthrough (you can also purchase them at the black cat on NG+ por about 200k a piece). You can have up to 10 placed portcrystals.
I believe the placeable portcrystals are also located in your Tools inventory subsection. If you want to exactly know where those placeable crystals can be found:
1-. Grand Soren, Everfall (Pre-Dragon) at the bottom, right in the middle of the stone plate you actually have to check as part of the main story.
2-. Shadow Fortress, in one of the three cells next to the chest you get the door lever
3-. Bluemoon Tower, along with the treasures in the "arena" on top of the towrer.
4-. Hillfigure Knoll, in the Dragonforged cave (in the small side cave next to him)
5-. Witchwood, in the middle of the winding path that leads to the second witchwood area next to Selene's hut; must deal with the "rock" that blocks the path first...
Good locations to set placeable portcrystals are:
1-. Shadow Fortress entrance (main quests + escort quests)
2-. Bloodwater Beach (lots of escort quests end here)
3-. Greatwall encampment (main quest + escort quests)
4-. Hillfigure Knoll (main quest + escort quests)
5-. The Abbey/Prayer Falls (choose one, abbey has couple sidequests, Falls has some escort quests; short trip from one another, with minor enemies between them)
6-. Northernmost Healing spring (escort quests, short trip for a sidequest)
7-. Bluemoon tower (main quests, farmable loot)
8-. Witchwood shortcut (cliff near Cassardis, convenient shortcut to Selene's)
9-. Warrior's Respite (escort quests, can save this one and use cassardis fixed portcrystal instead, taking a small trip)
10-. Catacombs/Soulflayer Canyon (can save this one also, it's just a convenient location for some quests and farmable loot)
