Can't enhance items anymore (despite having materials & money)

Something broke in my game. I can no longer enhance any items. When I go to the vendor and open the enhance menu, it shows I have the materials and gold, but the stars are all greyed out. I thought maybe it was just the 1 weapon I had that was bugged so I went and bought a different one.. same problem (had all materials and gold). Same problem with any armor I try to enhance, the stars are all greyed out despite having materials (these items are not enhanced yet either, they're blank).

I've enhanced dozens of items in the game prior to this, but now it seems to be broken and impossible to enhance anything. Does anyone know how I can fix this?

Someone had this issue a few days ago and it was caused by an infinite carry weight mod and him hitting the inventory size limit.

Ah perfect, that is likely it (using that mod). I'll turn it off and unload some inventory. Thanks :)

They also reported that unloading everything from their character didn't fix the bug, so I'd stay away from such mods...

Unloading a bunch of items to storage fixed it, despite the mod. The mod is fine, but at some point you have to move items to storage or sell stuff it seems (my problem was the thousands of poison, sleeper etc arrows I kept finding. Once I sold off about 4,000 oil & poison arrows everythign was working again).

I have the mod just have your main character sell off some stuff and enhancing will work again.

Same here, just sell something, and its all back.
