Help Magic Archer :( low damage (daggers)
I was noticing i don't do almost any damage with daggers to any BBI boss except sometimes when i face opposite element bosses. I am level 136 and Always leveled with a patch that gives stats as a sorcerer even if you play as magic archer.
(have only str 200)

I use goldforged magic daggers from BBI and have magic boost and damage boost when grabbed as passive skills from both equip and augments. Yet i don't do any damage to most bosses :( what am i doing wrong? when i played on console i used heaven's Keys and did lot of damage. When i use magic bow (silver forged Thunder BBI lvl2) i do some damage instead (nothing comparable to my pawn :( a fighter with 3 star holy sword from BBI)

that is exactly the reason- your damage is highly dependant on the element of your weapon when talking magic breakpoints. unlike physical damage which is affected by a static defense modifier, magical damage has to contend with both a magical defense modifier and elemental resistances, since there are no neutral magic weapons, only enchanted weapons (or enchantments in general)

you've pretty much answered your own question in that regard, since you'll only be doing impressive damage when factoring in elemental advantage

of course, i was always under the impression that the sapfire daggers innate raw when goldforged was still enough to hit most physical breakpoints, even with a low ATK class like magick archer

Given that your stats heavily favor magick, you will only really be putting out magick based damage and not strength based damage. I assume that by magic daggers you mean ones that have a permanent enchantment, which is what you want.

This makes your dagger attacks deal elemental damage, which is amplified by your magick stat. Your problem, then, is probably one of the following:

1. Using the wrong element against the boss.
2. Not hitting the boss' weak point(s).

Both of which you can look up on the wikia.

Incidentally, heaven's keys are generally a very good choice for BBI since most things are weak to holy damage.

Well, Your magic daggers have split Strength/Magic and thus apply damage seperately, The physical portion will likely be doing marginal damage because of your low base strength & the magic side will be doing average damage because the weapon has split stats.

Example; Fighting Daimon who has 400 of each defence, You have (for example) Sapfire Daggers and 700 Strength & 2200 Magic, The Daggers will do 300 Strength and 1800 magic damage, Opposed to a Full Magic bow and 200 Strength and 3200 Magic, You will do 2800 Damage against Daimon.

I'm not sure why the damage is so slow though as Sapfires (I assume is what you're using) have more than enough stats to push through these defences anyways. Perhaps the bosses you're struggling with have resistance to fire in which case sapfires will always be subpar.

Yeah i use goldforged sapfire daggers and with something like 2500 Magic damage i don't see daimon bar decrease at all with dagger with thousand kisses on his mouth while a sixfold bolt does some with a silverforged dragon tempest :( also against the thunderwyrm (element Thunder) i don't do any damage on his earth with fire daggers (then my pawn passes by with her holy sword and does 1/10 bar per hit -.-) Even Killing a goblin shaman takes one sixfold bolt against 2-3 thousand kisses.

Its like most bosses have huge general magic resistance except to opposite element.

While i am here: for ur dragon is best to use heaven's Keys or sapfire daggers?

Heaven's Key are actually stronger than Sapfire magically speaking against the end-game stuff because they're innately Holy. They're more effective against things like Ur or most BBI enemies. The reason Sapfire is such crap against Daimon is because fire isn't effective against him. You'll do decently enough with Holy Affinity on top of Sapfire, but you'll do better with Heaven's Key and Holy Affinity.

Outside of Ur and BBI however, Sapfire will demolish the game way better than Heaven's Key.

Also since Damage thresholds were brought up, 3000 is the number you're looking for with Magick.

Ur-dragon is weakest to holy damage, so definitely heaven's key. As for magick bow doing more damage than dagger skills, that's to be expected honestly.

The magick bow will have a higher static magick damage value than the daggers, for one. Therefore any skill you use with the magick bow will naturally have a higher damage value assigned to it.

Secondly, Daimon (both forms) isn't particularly weak to fire. Holy, on the other hand is very good against his second form.

i did further tries:
Goldforged a set of Heaven's Keys and it does damage to Daimon... still NO damage to Wyvern not even switching to sapfire daggers (2300 magic attack)... nor to fire drakes (the one before daimon city)... with heaven's keys :/ i am level 140 now i wonder if its normal.
