The playstyle can be much more aggressive and reckless due to the relative lack of punishment. Only certain classes have a dodge roll, and it's only really good for escaping trouble, it's not really meant for a poke-roll-poke playstyle.
Fighting the big monsters is similar to monster hunter but you're much faster and can deal much more damage
If what you're worried about is difficulty the game is pretty easy until the dlc zone where it gets a bit harder. Though there are items you can buy to make it extremely easy even there and you can have 100 heals and multiple revives by then
Except for Mystic Knight, with whom I will perfect block *as a way of dealing damage*
