Is this game a "Soulslike"?
Title says it all. Does this game play like Dark Souls and Monster Hunter? I'm not really into those types of games...

You probably won't like this then.

Not at ALL. This is totally different. The only area that kinda resembles DS might be the DLC end game area but its still not. This game is a lot more like an open adventure with extreme action combat similar to games like devil may cry or something but more rpg

There's no soul mechanic, and no bonfires. You can save anywhere and don't lose anything when you die, you just reload. You can carry your weight limit in healing items, and there's even items that revive you when you die.

The playstyle can be much more aggressive and reckless due to the relative lack of punishment. Only certain classes have a dodge roll, and it's only really good for escaping trouble, it's not really meant for a poke-roll-poke playstyle.

This game is a Soulslike in the same way as Darksiders, Brutal Legend or SW The Force Unleashed are: third person perspective, hack and slash, exploration, character development ...that's about it.

No it's not a soulslike

Fighting the big monsters is similar to monster hunter but you're much faster and can deal much more damage

If what you're worried about is difficulty the game is pretty easy until the dlc zone where it gets a bit harder. Though there are items you can buy to make it extremely easy even there and you can have 100 heals and multiple revives by then

nope. kinda like clunky monster hunter combat wise, at least from the tutorial.

It's similar to MH and "Soulslike" in that you have to avoid/block enemy attacks and wait for openings to attack yourself, take advantage of enemy weaknesses etc.

Actually I rarely block or dodge. You can avoid a whole lot just by walking a little. Also enemies feel always "open" to me, the time to attack is almost always "now" especially if using Dragon's Maw

Except for Mystic Knight, with whom I will perfect block *as a way of dealing damage*

No it's not a soulslike. Souls games are just Zelda-likes. Dragons Dogma is much more an RPG. It's kind of like Elder Scrolls but with enhancing mods and actually good combat.

Nope.

No. They are both action role-playing hack and slash games made by a Japanese company. They are both hard games. But Dragon's Dogma has no souls like game elements that i know of.

It's an action-RPG, but not a soulslike.

It is a traditional action RPG, with history and missions. (like skyrim or dragon's age)
