Set of Queen's Clothing
When I arrived at Gran Soren, they gave me armor at the inn, for whatever reason. And now I have a completely OP armor which is better by far than anything else, but I look like an idiot in it. What kind of unbalanced nonsense is this? Am I overlooking something or do they really want me to run around like a princess?

I think someone ran the numbers and it turns out that the Queen and Duke's clothes are about as good against physical attacks as the Steel and Hellfire sets with the best clothes and capes, though this might depend on your core Defense due to damage formulas and diminishing returns on Defense stacking.
Use your elite gamer brain, sell it and stop ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ or go play something else. The amount of upset you are over this is extremely absurd.

It is difficult to argue with such reinforced concrete argument.
I'm surprised on how annoyed people get with this post.
Surely if you don't mind installing or making a mod against this DLC it's just as much effort to not equip it but that's beside the point.
The lad shows he's having issues with it (which I myself can't understand since I'd just ignore an item I dislike), instead of telling him he's a **** you could also consider
solutions.

So here we go, earier than ignoring it or modding to get rid of it:

1) Give it away to a hired pawn by equipping it to a hired pawn and firing said pawn.
This will nicely remove it from your game
2) Sell it, surely you'll get a gold boost but it's a smaller gift in overpoweredness
3) Equip it to your own pawn and make the AI with you slightly stronger will looking slightly stranger
4) Do the math, even if you rushed tho this point the clothing (full body set) when compared to the best you can buy at this game stage, will be less well than the best separate pieces.

If I missed your problem here, which is likely since I do not seem to see an issue myself, maybe try to reword the whole post since it seems I am not alone in it and people do try to offer advice.

The issue is obviously that they give OP DLC items for free at the start of the game. They didn't patch this from the console versions, where you only get these items after playing ht eoriginal Dragons Dogma.

I already just discarded all the items now. Every single item I got from the Union Inn in Gran Soren or whatever it's called. They also gave you some rings for free and other armor/clothes. Brought me out of the immersion a lot, but this game is still awesome. Probably my new favorite RPG.

1) This item cannot be equipped on hired pawn
2) Gold boost from nothing is too big for initial stage, especially on normal mode (this is 3000 bags of 100 gold)
3) Worst advice EVER
4) Wiki claims "Due to both excellent Striking Resistance and Piercing Resistance and extremely low requirements for upgrading this armor, this set is the most efficient for low level female characters".
Jesus, games will never develop as a medium because of hare-brained logic and argumentation like this. The amount of hyperbole in this post could materialize and swallow one whole.
Also, Japanese development doesn't worship the idea of "immersion." Like the west. They want you to know you are playing a game and they don't trick you into thinking your not.

Actually Japanese games are usually more immersive, because they actually have good gameplay. Western developers are not really good at this, but Japan has always been the best at art and gameplay. They have the biggest arcade industry by far for a reason.

Western game industry has always just been about inventing new technology, while Japan just was about making games with sick art and challenging, fun gameplay. They are better at immersion and usually care about not putting broken items into their games.

Do you also have arguments or are you here just to insult people? You are just another braindead Minecraft player and can't wrap your head around people caring about game balance.
