About Warrior
Does it have "tanking" capabilities? or is that just for Fighter and the other "Evolve" class whose name i forgot, the Paladin like one.

They cant block. But can iframe
Warrior primary focus is damage and disruption. Tanking is for fighter and mystic knight.

If equipment and augments is right, warrior is a stun lock machine, either constantly staggering a target or knocking it down.

Like you can stagger Griffin with 2 hits on a head

Warrior has unstoppability which prevents most enemy attacks from interrupting Warrior ones.
Warrior also has small bonus to stagger and knockdown resistance allowing him to stay on his feet.
Warrior also has Augment that halves damage received while charging a skill.

I would consider these tanking capabilities.

Now, Dragon's Dogma is game all about not getting hit so obviously a proper tank is an outlier here and you may feel hard pressed to use Escape/Exodus Slash, but Warrior's primiary means of avoiding damage is attacking and interrupting enemies' attacks before they can reach him.

Still, if you want to actually soak damage you have Mages.

BTW Mystic Knight is a disruptor rather than a tank. He has a shield and may block attacks with it, and even shield allies with a proper skill, but the main purpose of the shield skills is to do mean things to enemies WHILE blocking at the same time. Now, Fighter is another great case of a tank, though the focus of a Fighter is more on drawing aggro away from allies and standing his ground rather than charging at enemies.

Yeah this is what im mainly looking for, someone that can keep agroo giving room for others to attack freely.

Im going as a Strider actually, with my pawn being a Fighter

Warrior is the unga bunga vocation but ironically requires a bit of thinking before you can play it correctly.

Warrior is about augments and bashing things really hard until they fall unconscious. You stand and make everything else fall down. You physically beat things to death and the skills are simplified to this end. Warrior could have no skills and still do its job, having three skills is just a helpful bonus.

You can use the Stamina Hammer https://dragonsdogma.fandom.com/wiki/Stamina_Hammer to draw agro for your warrior Pawn.

both Fighter and Warrior have nice Iframes moves... but don't count with your pawn to use the right skills in the correct time.

if u want to play with Warrior use Escape Slash/Exodus Slash in the right time to avoid 99% of all damage in the game :steamhappy:

fighter have the perfect block and the awasome Dragon Maw...

but don't give a lot of thought in tank's, DDDA is SUPER easy late game, as a strider, just brain spliter/Fivefold flurry + blast Arrow everyone

Also if you really want to tank, the Sanctuary augment from Mystic Knight reduces physical attacks to 1 damage when you're at red health.

If you combine this with Immortal's armor pieces which heal you over time, you become very hard to kill by physical attacks.

I switched to warrior early on and never really went back. After finishing the game I learnt warrior sucks and is underpowerd requiring meme weapons to become OP and cheesy amounts of strenght boons to do comparable damage to other classes.
I allways had a warrior pawn. Later in the game all pawns die super quickly(Specially ranged ones since they are usually suicidal and go close to enemies...) so they might as well be doing damage. They do tank about as much as warriors specially if wearing the Immortal set which regens their life. If they die just grab them and they go back to fighting.
The problem you will run into is when fighting ghosts and flying enemies those melee classes cant really do anything other than stand around getting hit.

All red vocation are tanks, but different type of tanks.
Warrior is a mitigator tank, it has high damage reduction and some skills and augments that allow him to face tank attacks while charging his own.
But now that doesnt work so well against certain giant ennemies, especially grabers and caster....
It also have an iframe (exodus slash) that let you avoid damage (but not grabs !).

What it used the most for is as a "topple tank"... basically stacking knock down effect on ennemies by spamming jumping light attacks (eminence helps a lot...) while iframing trough attacks with exodus.
Then , once the target lose balance and fall, use one of his big damage attack on it before it can get back up (so long charging attacks like obliteration arent so good either).
