They influence Pawn behavior and also promote certain incliantions (in certain circumstances).

If you say Go! in battle, Pawn rushes to battle but will also become less inclined to "guard" you (Guardian lowered), if you say Go! outside battle Pawn rushes to scout ahead and also it boosts Pioneer inclination, aso asf.

Said inclinations work according to their score, the top two the most (and you can switch between third and second at will) the rest if no other applies to the situation.

1. Star knowledge
2. Quest Knowledge
3. Inclinations and their weighting.
4. By spamming commands you're also changing inclination weighting.

How does inclination weighting work?
The author of this thread has indicated that this post answers the original topic.

Repeated use of the help, go and come commands is not advised. It seems to encourage the pawn to stand around waiting for you to tell it what to do. A pawn with good beast knowledge and the right inclinations for it's vocation will perform well and makes use of those commands unnecessary.

Sorry to use your thread, but there's a way to make Pawns heal more often? They heal themselves til half of the HP and we face a tough fight they keep fainting over and over...

Medicant. Also you can force them to use curatives with HELP! command (which boosts Guardian, but if you've read this thread you know how to lower it). Mind that Pawns when busy will follow your order with a delay, don't spam it.

Thank you.

Pawns will not (usually) fully heal themselves. They will use whatever healing potion or weed is available to them starting with the weakest type. You could try only putting strong ones in their inventory for them to use. That white portion of the health bar is about where they tend to stop using healing things. I give pawns potent or mature greenvarish for them to use and carry a few spring waters or other kinds of group healing potions to boost them back up to full health.

I personally don't ever use pawn commands now. My limited initial testing left me thinking that they serve no useful purposes whatsoever and influence inclinations in ways that I don't want.

This!

I stopped using them, they change inclinations. I would yell for help when I needed a heal, turned my pawn into Guardian, that I don't want. I just load up on spring water now. Still a noob to DD. My opinion.

They work. It's just that pawns take some time to react (usually they say something to notice you they got your order too).
But you should never need to order them around, it's only good to mess-up their inclinations....
