A fortress besieged-- What level should you be?

I was level 22, and had no problem finding the lever and opening the gate. Ten seconds later all the soldiers were dead, soon thereafter my main pawn was sent back to the rift and after thirty minutes of fighting we had barely put a dent in the large monsters and waves of small ones kept coming. Losing my mage obviously didn't help, but I thought level 20 was okay for this one.

Kill ballista goblin first before take the cyclops. Take the helmet off

After kill the cyclops then open the gate

Thanks, worth a try! I just changed vocations and am very weak in new role, so maybe I will build a little experience and head back.
