i literally tried to install the game, and plug in my ps5, what im getting is prompts saying 1-4 instead of real buttons.. if i try to go with ds4 windows it still displays xbox controls which is fine but it suddenly swaps over to 1-4 button prompts again, why cant i play this game with a controller o.O, it was MADE FOR XBOX

I see that the store page says Full controller support. Wouldn't be the first time Steam is lying in your face ;)

BTW Are you using the pad directly or run it through some external application like Inputmapper? Or maybe it requires setting some options under Steam?

i tried both , i tried ds4 to register as a xbox controller, i tried going big window mode and into the game, but the game doesnt register my button prompts correctly and is saying 1-9 instead, a light attack is a heavy attack and heavy attack is heavy attack,

I read that numbered propt is the result of using "Unknown" device. If you are using off-brand try some emulation software (someone on redit mentioned scptoolkit) to convince Steam that your PS5 gamepad is XBOX gamepad.

I also read that there's a mod on Nexus that addresses labeling issue.

What about Steam settings. Try with each gamepad, set Steam Input as PS, XBOX or none. There's also enhanced XBOX driver...or something, I'm not well versed in the matters of console control devices.
