Conclusion: You messed up your Deathly Arrow. The skill requires timely release (right on being charged) and at the right distance to reach its full potential (700% damage).
Not only vs. Reaper Arrow, Spiral Arrow pales in comarison with Dire Arrow - if DA was properly used.
BTW Be aware that it, actually, matters WHEN you shoot the Ogre in the face.
Also, I just read from the Wiki and apparently it says Reaper's Arrow is bugged and it has less damage than Deathly Arrow? Should I just downgrade it?
...and release the moment you see the flash and "woosh" sound.
Downgrade? You just Undequip the skill ring and the skill is gone.
BTW Note that the wiki bug info refers to Pawns.
Well, it says "May only affect pawns", so I thought there was a chance it might affect the Arisen too, like it may not only affect the pawn, but the Arisen too. But I realize what it actually means now.
Got it. Thanks a lot!
Instant big damage on an already knocked down/sleepy target, or for stacking knock down effect from a safe distance (for some ennemies hitting a specific part with high knock down power get them down way faster, or are part of a mechanic to knock them down)
Corsckrew arrow is for delivering debilitations (secial arrows, rusted longbow) or for DPS.
Only probablem is that it needs to be used kinda close to be effective.
Basically you need both. reaper arrow when you're far from the target, or when the target is already controlled/neutralized/KD, Corckscrew arrow when you're close or are trying to torpor/petrify/silence/etc....
Also given how defense works in the game, against high defense ennemies, you might prefer a skill that deal enough damage to breach the thresold than a skill that deal lot of weak hits, all almost negated by the defense, when it comes to dealing significant damages.
Another thing about reaper: It's timing sensitive, you need to release it the exact moment it get charged, otherwise you dont get the full damages. If you succed at timing your release, you'll get a slight flashing effect to confirm your successfull shot.
