Flame Riposte Question
Am I doing something wrong? From the description, this skill is supposed to be shooting more than 1 fireball on a perfect block, but I've seen it shot anything more than 1 every time I perfect block.

Are you charging it up all the way? Unlike physical attacks where you always use the highest tier variant of a given skill, most spells need to be charged further to access the advanced version of the spell. That is to say if you fire off the spell instantly you'll get Firecounter (1 fireball), but if you wait a little longer before releasing (there's a visual and audio cue) you'll get Flame Riposte (3 fireballs). With a specific ring you can go stage further and get Inferno Feint (5 fireballs)

I didn't know that you need to charge a perfect block. How do you do that? Do you just hold the block button? It's annoying that the game did not mentioned anything about charging it >.>

No, I'm saying to keep charging the initial spell incantation until the second pulse to get the upgraded spell to apply. If you have Button Display on, just wait until the orange bar completely fills the bar near the spell's name, then release when it starts flashing. If you release the spell too early (i.e. when there's still green in the bar), you'll just enchant your shield with the first tier spell, Firecounter, which only shoots 1 fireball.

Once you have Flame Riposte applied to your shield, every time you Perfect Block you should shoot 3 fireballs. You can tell that three fireballs are fired even in melee because the fireballs are staggered a bit and so tend to go "whump whump whump" instead of one big WHUMP. Or fwoosh, maybe even whoosh.

Yes, Hold Alt. The longer you do, the higher tier is applied.

Pretty much all magical enhanters and most of charging skills have multiple tiers.

Thank you guys for the answer! I've been doing this wrong for more than half of the game. I only played sorc for a few level to get vocation lvl to max and then went back to MK. So I'm not really familiar with the magic system in this game yet
