What's different between Dark Arisen and the original?
I played this a little on the PS3 in its original version. What does Dark Arisen add to the game?

You get a whole new area/dungeon to explore in the form of Bitterblack Isle. The content there is usually reserved for high level play, so it's your typical end game grind location which takes over from the Everfall in the vanilla game. It's also much harder than the Everfall if you're not prepared.

With this new area comes a bunch of new loot that's extremely powerful but takes time and tons of RC to acquire. And as an added bonus, the PC version of DD:DA comes with all the DLCs released on the vanilla version

Gears which changes existing skill giving them upgrade in the form of more hits and damage/ reduce startup/ bigger range etc varies with technique
eg. Dire gouge becomes Deadly gouge, midway within the attack character flashes white, added effect triggers and cannot be dislodge from scaling, additional damage with longer duration of stabs
Indominable Lunge becomes Calamitous Lunge, startup time reduces by half, distance charged increases, knockdown increases

Bloody Knuckle- Increase barehand damage by 2, stack 2 and damage goes up 4x. Tested on fighter and the damage between 2 jump attack differ by 25% comparing barehand to ultimate BBI level 3 weapon. Usable by any class, does not work on pawns.

New enemies and combination, day/night exists in that dungeon but the combination is determined by RNG. Physical/ magic immune enemies appear more often. One of the room, Black Abbey will generate every type of monsters without ever having the need to exit to rest in Inn.

Some rooms will have a few dragons. 1 hidden boss that requires many visits to kill if unprepared. Expect to see infinite stunlock of grapple moves. Clearing it once unlock more enemies, includes added randomized 2nd wave encounters and changes the final boss in that dungeon. So fight 2 dragonkin, mid-way random cursed dragon spawns and you fight 3 in the same room.

Weapon/ Armor with increased stats, increased debilitation resistance. 1 full set can give you 6 or more different kind of 100% resistance.

New sidequest, mostly kill this, gather that material. One sidequest will ask you to find Sculptures scattered all over BBI, finding 30 is definitely challenging as most of them is very obscured. Sort of a hide-seek type of quest, like shooting all those RE4 emblems. This is perhaps the largest and challenging quest in the expansion.

Dungeon can be as long as 3hours at low level 50-70ish, 45 minutes at max level full party. Solo can take 3hours+. Everything killed, all room entered at least once, no escaping. Scouting for chest not included in that timing.

Novelty items like lanterns that consume oil 2x faster but shine 2x brighter. Pickax that are very light. Curative items that heal everyone to max health. Scrolls that teaches you secret augments like restore health on enemy kills

Rarifying which enhance equipment from red dragon forge to blue and finally gold. Each step cannot be skipped.

Level 2 weapons split-damage type similar to Heaven's key, stronger too. Element varies between classes.

Basically

Nerfed a lot of the buff skills and put a cap on them (which removes buffs if you exceed it, making it possible to waste augment spots)

Ex. Assassins solo ability went from 80% atk and magic buff to 20%

If you exceed 1.8 multiplier it removes things

No new skills or spells, new gear (that really does look ugly) a new area (that is really just a handful of rooms you've seen elsewhere stitched together and reused over and over) new enemies and stuff

But all in all, the games still good, if you haven't done DA before do it now I've purchased this one 3 times
