Need a bright virid scale - Possible Spoilers
I got a Hallowed Dragon staff drop in BBI, and have it dragon forged. Next step requires two Bright Virid Scales, only dropped by a Thunderwyvern, and then only rarely.

I have been trying to farm the dragons in Duskmoon Tower in post-daimon, but it takes me 20 minutes to kill either one (Thunderwyvern or Fire Drake), not to mention how long it takes me to get to Duskmoon Tower. On top of that, the Fire Drake shows up about twice as often as the Thunderwyvern. So far the Thunderwyvern has dropped the Virid Scale, but never a Bright Virid Scale.

So, I fight my way to Duskmoon Tower, kill whatever dragon is there, pick up the drops, go back to the surface and rinse and repeat.

Anyone have any suggestions on how to make this easier? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

Shoot it and force to land. Then get on its back and attack the weak spot.

Would be easier to help if you wrote your vocation.

Hundred/thousand kisses with Conqueror's Periapt just destroys it in seconds.

As a sorcerer use focused bolt with 4x Demon's Periapt.

PS You can just run past all enemies to get there...

Something tells me that the game is designed in such a way that players have to mix things up a little to get what they want. You want your scales, switch to another vocation and focus on something else, such as killing Daimon. On the way to him, you will see Thunderwyverns in the Fallen City (if you've killed him already).

If you want your scales fast, you better use a vocation that kills things fast, such as the Magick Archer). Dragon drops are the easy part. It's the Moonshimmer pelts and Bloodred Crystals that are a pain in the bum.

I have a spare one, if you want to friend me I will gift it to your pawn (assuming it can be gifted). Then you can black cat as many as you need.

Also the best way of killing them personally, as a sorceror, is just casting high maelstroms to the left of where they are hovering, as when they fall they expose thier weakpoint that way. It might only be effective for me though because I have been sorc for the entire game so my Magic Attack is pretty decent. I kill them in a few minutes without even needing to use demon's periapts (because the guy who sells them is inconvenient :D), each cast is about 2-3 health pips.

A heart-felt "thank you" for the ideas. I am a level 150 sorcerer, and my main paiwn is a level 150 mage. Her name is Sharllia.

I will try to take down the Thunderwyvern a few more times, but I will friend you anyway Bass Master. I do not take gifts easily, so I would like to trade you something (if I give up on getting the drop myself). I have a lot of BBI level 1 and 2 gear, is there anything you want that I might have? (By the way, is there a way to friend someone in DDDA, or does it work to friend someone in Steam?)

Thanks again to everyone. I will put the suggestions to use.

And I dont really want anything in return.

Hired your pawn, fought a little with her incase the game needs you to do that for the hire to be "real" and then sent her off with one of the Bright Virid Scales. You might have to rest in an inn to get it. Here's hoping it works, not traded or anything before.

Took so long to find it though :D The item gift system really needs filters :D.

Thank you so much Bass Master. Let me know if you ever need something in return. You are a generous soul.
