Running from the dragon?
In the Final Battle with the dragon, there is a point (apparently) when one must run from the dragon while the temple collapses. This is immediate after a cut scene with one's 'beloved' and having to choose. (Mine was Fournival, argh!) However I seem to have what appears to be a bug.

My perspective and movement controls are all messed up. I cannot turn with the mouse, only with keyboard, and my visual persepctive is reversed, I can only look behind me. This means I essentially have to run blind because I cannot see where I am going and I cannot steer with any effectiveness.

Is this the way the game is 'supposed' to work or is this a bug I have encountered? If it is a bug, does anyone have a clue how I might rectify the problem? I have now died numerous times while trying to figure out how to move.

It's just like the running sequence in the Bluemoon Tower when the Griffin is chasing the party and destroying the platform behind you. The N/S directions are reversed; to run in the right direction, you use stick down to run towards you as a person, or S. There are also two hidden blocks of rubble along that passage which will get you killed if you're stuck there too long.

Your encumbrance also affects how fast you can run; if I'm carrying too much crap, or my pawns has too much, they will fall behind to get fried.

I somehow missed that gryphon sequence. Must have skipped a quest. I was able to somehow 'back' away from the dragon despite not being able to see where I am going. I found the entire experience to be NOT FUN and fankly, abysmally awful game design. Now I am reloading over and over while flying on the dragon's tail. I presume that 'quicktime' thing requires you to mash the A & D keys at a superhuman speed? (I 'think' that's what people are refering to when they use the term 'quicktime'.) I hit them as fast as I possibly can and still get thrown off the dragon to 'retry' absolutely every time. I have tried taking strength boosting potions to hold on tighter, that didn't work. I am about to rage quit and uninstall.

I programmed a macro to get me out of those button-mashing scenarios. I've personally never liked the mechanic as it seems tailored especially for controllers.

If you think the A-D mashing on Grigori's back is difficult then try the ones in BBI even at level 200, and wearing decent gear you will still have trouble, not to mention you will still get one or two shot by other attacks. Not sure if being a smaller or bigger person has an effect on the button mashing sequences (as in, being bigger makes you harder to shake off so the button mashing becomes more forgiving).

I am doing that sequence now. I'm close to uninstalling. I managed to get through the blue moon tower run but the Dragon one is tough. At 1st when the rocks are falling the game switches to keyboard only. So, you can only direct the character with WASD keys, the mouse wont change the way you are facing as it does for the entire game. Then when you get to the corridor the controls reverse, so w = back, s = forward, a = right of screen and d = left of screen. All this whilst you can not see where ypu are going and one wrong key press runs you into a wall. Once you run into a wall you just get jammed there and can not move. Its not fun, not exciting its feels like the devs are saying "ha ha, sucked in, you cant complete the game, good joke right"
