Everything does double damage to you in hard mode, including bats.
If you're using a bow you should be at close range. The bow does far less damage when at medium range and practically no damage at long range (you'll need a long bow for actual ranged physical combat).
When it comes to fighting on hard mode, if you're doing it up close the only way to live is to "get gud" with the games mechanics. To specify what to focus on in order to get gud (god i hate that saying but it's the only true defonition here) you should learn to read most enemie attacks. You then will need to learn to use each classes skills and evasive manuvers to their fullest (things like timed dodge rolls, masterfull kill, and exodus slash) to evade and/or counter enemie actions. You'll want to not spam sprint in combat untill you get a reasonable amount of stamina (1,000+) otherwise you'll find yourself runing out of breath as you run away from an incoming attack just after you've used a skill or two. You'll also not want to spam skills (i'm sure you knew that already). Just like in a real fight (in a dojo or dark souls or whatever good fighting game) you'll want to learn to mix-up you skills, basic attacks, and extended core attacks. This is what I like to refer to as "comboing" in this game and learning to use it with you chosen vocation along with playing footies (fighting game term; let me know if you aren't familiur with it) with multiple enemies is what hard mode melee is all about. It's very intense even in mid game and will keep your interest invested quite well once you learn to use it well. Then comes the fun part of using it all to its fullest in BBI.
"The Warrior's Bastion augment - use it. On hard, especially at your current level, it is a game changer when it comes to survivability against physical attacks. The same goes for Awareness and magickal damage."
Besides, unlike Dark Souls, the difficulty is kinda pointless because
1. You can save whenever you want, death is no danger
2. Instaheal curatives
i suggest playing as a character that can stay far away from the enemies and always have 3 pawns with you, eventually you'll become strong enough to compete once your armor is high enough level
You can't save during battle or Bosses.
Ah mate I was referring to actually saving your game, as opposed to games like Dark Souls where death forces you to respawn with penalties.
So dying in DDDA essentially pushes you back in time 5 minutes (load game), other than a minor inconvenience, it is a uncomparable to actually putting something on the line every time you go into battle.
And you can easily pick up your souls off the ground, or farm more.
You are overrating Dark Souls games.
And unless an enemy can 1-shot you, then it doesn't matter if you get hit. You can pause and heal whenever you want. I died only once in 60 hours to some mage's maelstorm. The only thing I noticed at high levels is the rapid exp and money gain.
easier? How does that work?
You get bonus xp and stuff on hard mode, it's retarded
High level character/pawn (>100) with some good BBI gear and two hired pawns can go on Hard Mode easily, just get a couple of wakestones in case you mess up some fight. You'll have more work looting than fighting
