Metal Golem - Invicible?
So, I'm playing a sorcerer. I'm at the part of the game where they seemingly just gave up and tossed the final boss fight in out of absolutely nowhere, then seemingly decided to add some sort of end game or something where you fight through what seems to be randomly generated mini dungeons with bosses in each one. I have to get 20 wakestones I guess. I dunno.

Anyway, the boss is a metal golem. I'm not sure if I've ever faced a metal golem before or not (honestly, ever since The Dragon boss everything seems to have jumped forward like 3 chapters worth of difficulty or something). I've fought rocky golems that were immune to my spells and covered in metal talismans a few times, and they were always easy because I could just drop High Bolide on them repeatedly and they'd die.

This one though? It's not covered in talismans. Instead, they're placed all over the room.. including literally floating in midair at twice the golem's height. The things are immune to every spell I have except Bolide.. and that can only hurt the ones on the ground. Not that it really matters, as this thing seems to be able to hit me with a laser knockdown attack in about 1/2 the time it takes to cast Bolide anyway. I managed to take out all but a single of the talismans using throwblasts, so it's sitting at like 5% health with that one talisman just floating up there entirely immune to absolutely everything.

What can I do? I'm reading to uninstall this game and never look back. I haven't understood a damn thing that's happening since I got sent out "on an expedition" and somehow found a giant dragon at the bottom of a staircase and got handed a quest to kill the final boss out of nowhere, and I'm beyond frustrated that I've found about 15 bosses in the last two hours without advancing the story or getting a single piece of loot or anything.

Hiring a knowledgeable strider in a metal golem may destroy medals in the air.

Best thing with that one is to just ignore it and fight something else instead. Too annoying to deal with without the right setup.

And yeah, you can hire a pawn specifically to hit it, if you want to bother.

Also if you kill the offline Ur dragon, you get 20+ wakestones for it. He is very weak to holy focused bolt, and makes a good way to just skip the Everfall totally.

Whenever I was a sorcerer, Strider broke it. Pawns may do Cloudburst Volley / Hailstorm Volley when targeting with ineffective magic.

Metal Golems are pretty much immune to physical or magic attack. It's the metal discs in the surrounding area that have to be broken to kill it. Golems cannot hit anything above their head with their lazers. If you can get any kind of elevation you'll be relatively safe but frankly, you should doge the blasts and focus on destroying the discs. An alternative method since you're a sorc, you can easily slide into the magic archer vocation and get at least 5 of the 9 vocation ranks for it in less than an hour. Then go back and kill the metal golem. Metal golems are an easy kill for an archer vocation (strider, ranger or magic archer) since the discs can be broken even if all you have is a relatively weak bow to work with.

Unfortunately it's one of the worst boss designs which amounts to a "can kill: y/n" check. You fight the medals, the golem is just an obstacle.

It's trivial when you have a class with you that can do it, and it's also not worth getting upset over because you don't need to kill it in the first place. It's not a good fight and doesn't give you anything you really need. Unless you absolutely must do the couple quests for it because you're a completionist.

Remember, you can run from most encounters in this game. If you have a character or party makeup that is not suited to a fight, you can usually leave and come back. You can also change your class very easily.

Hire a Ranger, simple as that. You hire Pawns so they'd cover your Arisen weaknesses.
Use Ingle in manual mode to bring your party attention to disks they ignore (not that I know of any).

BTW Sure, you can use your Throwblasts, but also High Exequy to destroy near ground disks. Also Gicel and Heavy Attack have a physical component, though not too big. And if you have issues casting spells bring aggressive Scather Pawns and sic them on the golem.

Ranged pawns are more than capable of destroying talismans. Especially if their Knowledge for that enemy is high, they'll prioritize it every time and pawns have nearly perfect aim. If you don't have any Strider's or Rangers, it's just the trade off you have to make for not having a a well rounded party. You'll have to think outside of the box to take care of it and people have already given some good suggestions.

in the everfall arena chamber drop a maelstrom in the center of the zone, it pulls all the mirrors/disks/talismans towards it so they are clustered together more, then drop a high bolide and it will take out the talismans.
900 hours in and I had no idea ;___;
