Golem Magic Discs

Is there a trick to finding these? Killed one, and couldn't find them afterwards.

No trick, unfortunately.
Just look carefully, since they are really small and you might miss them.

Hit the golem with magick of any kind and at least one sigil will light up and the rest of them will glow less brightly. The lit-up sigil will freeze the golem in place if it is subsequently destroyed.

Notwithstanding the foregoing, golems are extremely resistant to magick. Blunt damage is best-- when I fought them as a Sorcerer, I unequipped my archistave and went at it with girly fists of rage.

I'm sorry, I'm afraid I have been unclear. I meant after killing the Golem, when the discs are on the ground. Other loot usually lights up when you get near. I haven't been so lucky with the discs.

All loot disappear after some time. If your fight with the golem lasted too long, the medallions disappear. Pick up them during the fight sometimes. Same for Ur-Dragon fight.

This. Especially for Dragon Horns on all kind of dragonkin!

It does not dissapear over time however only so much loot can stay on the ground due to engine limitations try and pick stuff up mid battle to not miss out on any usefull items that you might find.

Yeah, it was my first encounter with a Golem. The one next to the Witch's house. The fight didn't take long, but I assumed loot would just drop like any other kill. Live and learn!

They're easy to miss especially if the fight moved around so as others said pick them up as you go along. Having an elite lantern helps a little and if you play as an Assassin or Ranger Lyncean Sight/Comet Shot have zoom effect that helps to spot things like golem discs and dragon scales.
