Is Ur-Dragon all about Maker's Fingers?
Since just trying to damage the Ur-Dragon seems futile, I'm wondering if the fight has always just been a bunch of ppl shooting Maker's Fingers at the hearts each generation. Is that so?

Even with a maxed character can you see the health bar drop with any attack?

I'm 200, I bring a Holy buff mage, spam Hailstorm Valley and Brain Splitter for like 10 mins straight, or use a Force Hatchet (depressing to use in dragon fights) and spam Pentad Shots close range on a heart and I maybe imagine a few pixels of HP going down but not sure :p
Either it's legitimately a wide community effort to bring that HP down or there's a handful of people who spam Maker's Fingers. I think it might be the latter.

This suppose to be a community effort, like ppl all over the world chip the HP bar till grace period (yes, it's as exciting as it sounds) and then Ur can be killed properly, if dissappointingly.

And being able to slay the online Ur on your own is the anomaly in this scheme
...created by incompetent development.

No, but it's the most efficient and fastest way to create grace periods. Anything else is just challenging your skills/set-up with different vocations, with the big risk of overdamaging it and losing your participation reward if you use BBi weapons.

lmao how does one know they crossed the threshold mid-battle and are screwed? I guess we're expected to go in and slap the dragon on the wrist a little and gtfo or use Fingers then? What a weird system.

That's the thing. You cant know. So the best method is to limit yourself to using a MF and then hacking one heart a couple time with hundred kisses before leaving the area to purchase the next MF.

The damage you do to Ur dragon is pretty significant late game. You kind of just know when the dragon is done being hurt.

When you hear the hitzone splash and slash but no damage is being done... time to come back tomorrow.

I got rewards for "participating" when I just battled it for 5 minutes a few times. Not full 10 minutes due to risk of overdamaging it.

If you are a red vocation, you can just climb to 1 particular heart and go to town until your time is over. Strider has too much climbing DPS so there's a risk of going over damage cap.

Sorcerer or mage with HFB is another option, but again, if you are max level and with BBI staff, better fight for 5 minutes or so.

Pawns are not really necessary for this.

Participation rewards are not that great, but you can get all the weapons that way, eventually. Of course, you get the rewards after the current generation is killed.

That's what make the MF so good.... you shoot it at one heart, that knocks down Ur for a few seconds, long enough for you to climb and start damaging another heart (the tail) or to just immediately leave the area, without any risk of getting hit by one of Ur attacks.

You dont need to stay more than 2 minutes each time before you go purchase the next MF and repeat. That makes creating a grace period slightly over 1 hour long, if you're the only one participating...

If someone played the Resident Evil Revelation 2 online event "invasion of huge creatures," then he knows what developers needed to do. At least the general idea is realized there, I'm not talking about stupid parts that are enough there.
Capcom cannot.

Anyway everyone can find one's own style to get weapons and masks from Ur-Dragon
Moderate damage while not in Grace then Quick Punch when it is in Grace that is all.
One of the big things is that the Makers Fingers ignores the damage cap. With bbi weapons and a full, it is pretty easy to go over the damage cap and have non of your damage counted.

Someone with the right "set-up" can fire enough Makers Fingers to effectively solo the Ur-Dragon in under 2 hours. Without Makers Fingers you can effectively chip one of his toe nails in about 2 hours.
