How to gift the Wyrmking's Ring?

I'd like to gift out the Wyrmking's ring to new pawns. I've already finished the Wyrmking's quest and kept the real ring (turning in a forged ring).

If I'm already past that quest (completed), can I still gift out the real ring and purchase a real ring back from the Black Cat?

I've never done it yet as I really don't want to mess it up and have to do another playthrough for an additional real copy.

I've bought 3 or 4 of Wyrmking rings (that work) from the Black Cat. Not sure what triggerd it to be stocked though.

Yes as soon as you gift it it will show up at the black cat. I have done this numerous times. Even if you have already completed the Quest where you have to find the stolen ring. Also you can gift it when starting from the beginning (NG+).

What triggers the black cat to stock it is when you give away , lose , sell ,discard etc the WrymKings's Ring.

The forgery will not work waste of time and money.

One more question on this topic:

Suppose you possess two real Wyrmking's rings. Can you still gift one away and buy it back (so you still have 2 real copies) from the Black Cat or does it only work when you posses one ring and go to zero (i.e. the game still sees you have one real ring so you can't buy it back).

Yes you can I do it all the time. I have two and I gift one and buy it back a lot.

I had no idea you could get the Black Cat to stock the real ring, I figured if it did restock, it would be a forgery. Not sure why I had that in my head, but it's probably because I never need to use the Black Cat to purchase lost quest items.
