It seems, you didn't play it that long, did you? The game has more depth, than someone expects. Especially with character-design and party-design.
Even the plot holds some surprises...
plenty of people play it more cause its from creator of devil may cry, so combat is pretty expansive
It's kinda the soviet Russia of action rpgs.....
You could say it's just different focus but.... once you know a story, there's little point reading it again and again even if it's a very good story...
In the other hand a simply good gameplay fuel itself and make you want to enjoy it again and again.
DDDA has that focus, a very good indepth gameplay that compensate widely for his incomplete story.
For those who prefer stories over gameplay, there's books and movies... with way better quality writings than what you could find in even the best video games.... and without gameplay strains that tend to drag down story tellings.
I love that. Its a great idea. Weapons and skills are interesting.
With a little more different enemies and areas this would be a 9.5/10 for me.
For me its a "never" uninstalled game that i will keep for years just to visit it every once in a while like skyrim, fallout, dark souls, red dead 2 and so on.
This is what I really like about it. It's like your own medieval buddy-cop movie, in a way.
If Dragon's Dogma 2 is next gen it could top God of War's combat. Of course it can't win in story, graphics and soundtrack.
yeah, i would recommend playing Ninja Gaiden Black for undisputed king of combat.
Nioh is more like hybrid of Diablo and Bushido Blade
