A multiplayer mod would be rly awesome tho ngl.
Maybe we'll get that in DD2 if it'll be a thing.
A MAN CAN DREAM
There have already been case of game getting such a mod in the past: Fallout new vegas, but this game was way easier to mod and had a way bigger modding community.
DD2 have already been a thing. It was a MMO, limited to japan and it has already been taken down a few monthes ago.... what's to come, if anything come, is DD 3.

Regardless, a game doing well veeery often gets DLCs.
