pawn-mage or pawn-sorcerer?
I have a melee class, I need a support pawn
Which is better, a healer's pawn (mage) or a sorcerer's pawn?
On the one hand, it's easy for me to wear healing potions, and a large damage from a sorcerer will be a nice bonus
On the other hand it is also nice to have a healer in the team and not be distracted from the fight as a result

I would like to know the opinion of experienced players. Who do you prefer to see in the team? Who is more useful?

In my opinion, If you want mages , you can hire support pawns. For your main pawn I would suggest a sorcerer.
Sorcerer has better leveling than mage , and they can support you with better offensive spells.

Sorcerer a suporter? In which realm? Unless you mean support fire ;)

Hmm tough choice. Mage is definitely more useful for melees. Also he won't steal the show with his nukes.

On the other hand a wall of shields is a great support for Sorcerers. Except in this case you are the support.

But definitely should you change to caster yourself Sorcerer will be great. And if you'll hire some more Sorcerers they will make a fine tag team (if you'll match their nukes).

My main pawn has always been a mage (except for this playthrough, where I'm leveling her to 100 as a sorcerer for the magick attack and defense stat gains). I've been in some hairy situations where I was low on healing, the enemies were unforgiving, and just as I was about to give up hope on winning the battle, my healer would cast anodyne, or jump in to pick me up while I'm winded for being foolish enough to drain all my stamina, and I'd catch my second wind.

For me personally, having that support is vital and it's been natural for me to have my main pawn as a healer. However, that's *my* opinion--and it compliments my play style. It might not quite compliment your own. It's all about what you feel would best suit you :)

Having a healer does help in several situations, especially in early game, but I would definitely go sorcerer at later points, especially if you're playing as a tanky character, considering healing items can replace a healers job and a sorcerer could essentially remove the need of a healer.

However, I do play assassin as my main vocation of choice, so having a healer is a bit more important to me because I can't take hits very well and I do have a bit more of an aggressive playstyle of "hit-and-run" with moves such as shearing wind, mad sprint/thousand kisses, and relying on masterful kill as a counter.

Well, first Sorc has to cast the nuke. And the nuke has to hit something. There are downsides, just sayin'.

Except the part where a fighter or bow class has rendered them dead before the first cast.

1. The best pawns in the game are Fighters! Unmatched when it comes to performance, physical damage & their hits connect with enemies. Each level they become more powerful. Do not require much training.

2. Striders come second, even at low level give them rusted bow & see the mighty crumble & slowed including final boss.

3. Rangers : Good but require hours of training to do anything good.

4. Mages: at early level they are good & they can heal, but as you level up their power fades.

5. Warriors could not hit anything. LOL.

6. Sorcerer. Probably my least favourite vocation. Many experienced players say that they are incredible. In my experience they take lot of time to cast spell. And require lot of care. Sure after hit they do lot of damage if enemies give them chance to cast spell.
