Barbed nails for arisen sorcerer
Is there any point in using barbed nails for sorc? Does it help in staggering monsters/bosses if my skill set is holy focused bolt, comestion, frigor, miasma and maelstorm? I am not sure what choice would be the best, barbed nails or rings that improve magick

It boosts stagger/knockdown power. Why wouldn't it have a point?
On the other hand, if you level up as Sorc you have more than enough Magick to murder stuff. And 20% bonus to all this if you have reached Rank 9.

If anything I'd think about spending ring slots on some extra HP (or stagger/knockdown resistance if you get interrupted alot).

Their is an augment that would increase the knockdown power of your spells. To me two of the more serious weaknesses of pawns raised as pure spell casters is their vulnerability to being knocked down and lack of stamina. An ogre bone ring would increase their resistance to being knocked down. A ring that increases stamina or better yet HP and STA would work well.
It really depends on where you are in the game. Early or mid game, I would say that barbed nails are pretty decent. Late game, you can normally kill stuff much faster than you can knock them down with or without barbed nails. Although skill rings are not essential for Sorcerer, there are a couple that I would consider. Getting Grand Fulmination vs High Fulmination is highly advisable since it extends the barrier bubble, the arc distance, and lessens stamina use. If you are buffing the pawns having a ring that extends the time of the buff is just a nice QoL item to have.

Crowd Control has no clique.
