I've seen cliff notes pictures with more relevance to outcomes than the entire run of this junk heap.
That is the main Problem for me.
Exactly, folks don't seem to realize this is taking place in an alternate reality. otherwise i would have to be upset, because one of my characters was a lady, and they didn't cover that at all...
How dare the main character be a Man, when my main character was a Whoaman!
But seriously, it was good, it was about as good as any superman movie, being told by a new artist, there will be naysayers, but overall its just a story, and changes were made, though they are minor.
I thought I would hate the nudity in this, but it actually made a lot of sense for the portayal of humanity they were trying to show. They were trying to show that humanity is garbage and easily corrupted and I thought it was successful in showing that. It’s just the whole “hurr durr you killed the dragon with pride now you’re the dragon” thing was dumb more than “clever”. They didn’t spend enough time building the world and so at the end they just had to make up a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ ending.
As I said though, it’s “ok” just kinda lazy and underwhelming. And the 3d didn’t help.
The dialogue was pretty clunky, and the weird CGI/animation looked a bit strange to my eyes, and some of the animations of secondary characters were wonky.
Story wise, the Arisen was carried through combat with the pawn being 75% responsible for all victories. It's like a newbie having a level 200 buddy and going through the game with his friend's pawn doing all hard work.
[SPOILERS]
I didn't like it because of how they did the ending. I know the show doesn't have to be 1:1 with the game, but the fact they threw the Seneschal out entirely really ruined it for me. It felt like there was little to no character development. Ethan, the entire time, was just some gloomy sad sap like "must kill the dragon, let me be an a-hole to this one person who's entire existence is to help me do this." We didn't see the capital AT ALL. The part where he turned into the dragon definitely ruined it for lots of people. I even asked around and a lot of people agree. One of the few endings to Dragon's Dogma is if you fail to beat the Seneschal and die. When you die, you fall out of the weird room into the sky, turn into a dragon, and it plays the intro cutscene of the dragon coming into the world(but that dragon is you this time). But in the show, they just said that you turn into the dragon no matter what, and completely gave up on the Seneschal. Apart from that, it was very rushed, mentioning the lack of character development, not showing the capital whatsoever, and how they threw out the important parts like the dragon offering the deal of offering up a loved one(I know the dragon killed Olivia in the beginning, but had they left her alive they could have AT LEAST acknowledged that part of the game.) We don't see the dragonforged, and all of Cassardis just looked like some regular European Medieval Village, rather than what it actually was. (I'm not sure where it is from, what I mean is that the people there are based from a different culture, they're darker skinned and such.) Another thing that was left out was Salvation, I would've loved to see Salvation be brought into all that mess. All in all, they left out a lot of parts of the lore, and just tossed out all the things that made it so important. It turned into some fairytale gone wrong,
